Discover the 3 Best Hotels in Vermont with In-Room Jacuzzis
More of a hotel than an Inn. We generally prefer Inns for their family-friendly and cozy atmosphere of smaller establishments. The Green Mountain Inn is a large hotel with many rooms, industrialized processes, and a focus on amenities rather than the small details. We would have been more satisfied if we had paid less for our room, but $270 is far too high for the outdated room we received, especially considering that breakfast is not included (the only Inn in the area we visited that does not offer breakfast, and it was by far the most expensive). The staff is helpful but generally cold and distant, which does not encourage conversation with them. So to conclude, if the room had been less than $200, we would have been satisfied, but for the price we paid, we are really disappointed.
My stay at the Green Mountain Inn was spectacular. The rooms were absolutely beautiful and relaxing with such a cozy atmosphere. The staff were also very kind and welcoming, always offering a warm smile and a hello when we would pass by and going above and beyond for us. The Inn was also central to Stowe which made our stay much easier when it came to doing our activities, such as going walking on designated trails or visiting the cider mill, nothing was too far out of reach. Definitely worth the stay!
Very nice small hotel in the heart of Stowe. The luxury rooms in the annex are cosy and comfortable, despite been some 100 meters away from the main building. Our two night stay was spoiled by the receptionist who did our check-in. She did not mention what the hotel had to offer and we ended up not using the nice facilities, which we discovered already late. She did not care much when I demonstrated surprise about staying outside the main building either. The restaurant is good, but not great. During our stay, some dangerous work was carried out literally by our window, with big trees cut, without any notice or alert from the hotel.
I brought my mom here for breakfast on Friday Nov. 22nd and was really disappointed by the service. The views were great, the food was hot and delicious, the interior felt high end and cozy, but I couldn’t truly enjoy my meal because our server was so disinterested, and bordered on rude. There were no smiles or pleasantries, no welcome or introduction. It was not busy, but we didn’t receive glasses of water, despite even asking for it and had to search for our server when it was time to request the check. There was no manager on duty, and it is sad that a simple interaction like this can sour an experience of a potentially great location so much that I’ll likely never return.
I don’t usually write negative reviews unless the experience is truly terrible. The food was excellent though, 5stars for the back of the house!
Also, I wanted to add that I love the cute Stowe placemats!!!
Absolutely superb place to stay! Received a very warm welcome on arrival even though we were early and were able to check in straight away. Beautiful, traditional inn with lovely comfy, clean rooms. Our room overlooked the pool area and it had some seats outside on the balcony. We all loved the pool area. A great place to swim, relax, have a drink or snack in the sunshine. We loved the complimentary cookies, brownies, lemonade and tea at 4pm. The fire pit in the evening was lovely and our children loved having s’mores. We had a breakfast one day and the food was delicious. Service throughout was great and everyone working there seemed happy and enjoying their job. What a great place to stay! Many of the other people we spoke to were repeat customers and no wonder why! Thanks for a great stay.
Got a cabin right near the horses, Our dog loved watching them. We went cross country skiing with the Dog, They have a small ice skating rink, it’s nice, small, but it works. we signed up for the horse drawn sleigh ride, but we’re a min late and missed it :-/ It was a great time between cross country skiing access to the vast system for snowmobiling, and the staff being accommodating but not in your face. The hotel restaurant was good too!
Lovely New England style inn right on Main Street in Stowe. The location is great for all the shops, trail heads, and other attractions in the area.
Staff and service was fantastic during our stay, worth staying here just for them, but the amenities on property are also great. Excellent experience and would return when in Stowe!
Absolutely beautiful and comfortable rooms. The decor in the rooms is perfect. We had a deluxe room with fireplace and jacuzzi tub and it did not disappoint. The hotel feels more like a comfy home bed and breakfast. The country breakfast each morning was delicious and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. I will be back again
The Luxury room with a King size canopy bed in the main building was lovely and spacious. Laura at reception is delightful, and her genuine desire to want to make guests happy is what made this review grow from a 4 star to a 5 star. The Inn is lucky to have Laura as not all the reception staff will make great efforts to accommodate.
The breakfast was very good.
Where the coffee station is, it would be nice to add hot chocolate and various teas like most hot beverage stations offer rather than just coffee and black tea.
We had a wonderful stay at this Inn over New Years Eve. Jack and Maryann, our hosts were extremely helpful with suggestions of things to do and the history of the Inn. The breakfasts were amazing! We will return again.
Our first time visiting Ormsby Inn and the experience was wonderful. The Innkeepers, Maryann and Jack and staff, Candy exudes hospitality and could not have been more accommodating, especially when a special request was made for pancakes! We stayed in the Frances room – beautifully appointed, well maintained, clean and spacious with two fireplaces and a steam shower. The dining room and common areas were cozy and inviting with several large fireplaces and reading spaces. The setting is tranquil and rich with history. Worth the visit!
Our stay was simply the best and a highlight of our trip to see the fall colors. Not only was the inn lovely, but the service was excellent. Our hosts, Maryanne and Jack, made us feel like we were right at home with their warm and welcoming energy. They also provided us with amazing recommendations regarding activities and sights to be seen. Additionally, the breakfast they serve is 10/10 and I miss it to this day. Being at the inn felt like a warm hug and I cannot recommend it more!
Everything about this Inn was perfect. The owners were welcoming & nice. The inn was quiet and peaceful with a beautiful garden. The rooms were spacious and the whirlpool tub was to die for. Its located very close to town so easy access. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. And they even left cookies in the room which was a cute touch. We are already talking about returning again in the fall.
Excellent location; innkeepers were resourceful and accommodating. Beautifully decorated room with great room amenities. Excellent grounds. Would highly recommend.
A lovely spot to spend some time. The inn is beautifully appointed. The gardens make the views out all the windows a lovely foreground to the mountains. Breakfast was delicious and they were very accommodating of our dietary needs.
Really you just cannot find a better place to stay! Jack and MaryAnn ensure you have the best visit! The gardens were magnificent! So many beautiful healing wild flowers to look at. Hubby and I strolled the gardens every chance we got! Every time we did, we found a new beautiful flower to look at. Such care taken for such a stunning display.
My wife and I just completed a weekend stay at the Inn at Ormsby Hill. The Inn keepers are two wonderful people, Mary Ann and Jack plus a lovely housekeeper and super cookie maker , Candi. The Inn is beautiful. The accommodations lovely. We enjoyed our stay at the Inn. Highly recommend this Inn to anyone that wants to get away to beautiful Vermont. Strategically located just south of Manchester Center, easy access to anywhere. We enjoyed our stay and know you will too.
This review is a bit overdue, but surprised my boyfriend with a long weekend for his birthday in January and we both absolutely loved this Inn! We stayed in the Lincoln room because I did want to add on the in-room couples massage (highly recommend!), as well has have access to the relaxing sauna shower and soaking tub – especially after a day of skiing. Everyone was friendly, the breakfasts were delicious, the Inn itself felt cozy and welcoming, and you can’t beat the location for a stay in Manchester. Not enough good things to be said about this wonderful Inn!
A lovely inn, very well curated. They are doing a great job creating a cozy atmosphere from the moment you drive through the gate until you turn on the fireplace. Very firendly hosts too. Definitely recommend staying there for a few nights to relax. Beds are great too.
An incredible room with a fireplace and whirlpool bath, a terrific homemade breakfast, a beautiful home with comfortable common areas and fabulous hosts! The Inn checked all our B&B blocks and exceeded our expectations. Very highly recommended.
The Inn is beautiful and well appointed with lots of areas to read or chat with friends. The room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious! The location is nice, quiet and tucked away with lovely views of the mountains but only a quick 3 minutes to the town restaurants.
Well, what can I say? What a lovely inn, in a wonderful area with a delightful pair of owners. We booked an elopement package and were married in a small ceremony right on the lawn, with the trees and mountains as our backdrop.
Breakfast is modest, but absolutely delicious and fresh. As much coffee and amenities as you might need. The room was spacious and well stocked. Showers are hot and relaxing.
If you’re considering booking, I wouldn’t hesitate – if only to see the two beautiful English cream golden retrievers that are awaiting your arrival.
