This place was absolutely amazing. Been travelling through the USA the last three weeks. This is by far the best hotel we stayed in. Let me emphasize on the superb customer service when booking in and especially the breakfast. There is two wonderful elderly ladies helping people get food and making omelettes. It was very amazing. It’s just a small town, but they had the best breakfast we have had in three weeks travelling the states. The front lobby has a very welcoming cosy atmosphere with two living rooms with couches and games. My three boys enjoyed the pool and hot tub, this is a privately owned hotel, and we got to talk to the owner himself the morning we checked out. please make this a hotel destination when passing through South Dakota. We will be back!

This place is great! All of the staff were friendly and seemed to care about all of their customers. They had hot breakfast and someone to personally make your omelet. Pool and hot tub was open until midnight. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Love this hotel! We have family in the area and have stayed here for our last two visits. We have been so impressed by this little gem. The rooms are clean, the bed are comfy, and its quiet. They have a great pool area, that’s even open late for adults! There is a very cute and cozy lobby room area that feels like home. Even a puzzle area! They have the best continental breakfast I have ever seen at a hotel with the two sweetest ladies that keep everything cleaned and stocked. You can tell the staff enjoy each other and the job. We even forgot something and they called us to ask if someone could get it or if they could mail it to us! Highly recommend and hope they stay the same forever!

As always Greg and Stacie proprietors are the most gracious and genuine owners you could ever meet. Their Christmas decorations were beautiful and fri t fest staff Ida and Denver are always so delightful and helpful! Cathy and Marilyn in the breakfast room are the best and keep everything tip top and fresh and housekeeping has created a new gold star in their standards of hygiene as the room was and always is spotless. Amazing experience n hospitality every time and we can’t wait to return!

We stayed there about 4 years ago and they treated us so wonderful. We were there for the Rally and we got their last room available and it was just wonderful. You couldn’t ask for nicer people . They made us feel like family. If you get a chance to stay there you will be treated like family.

No need to look any further. This is a great hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcomed you as family. The hotel has games for kids (or adults), life jackets for the pool area, and a variety of breakfast items including omelettes or eggs how you like them. They offered complimentary snacks on Christmas Day which was a nice treat considering the stay was unexpected due to winter weather at our final destination. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality.

Wonderful property! I travel a lot and am pretty picky about where I stay which is normally a high-end property. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly the staff was, from the front desk, to the cleaning staff and the breakfast cook/attendant. The room was very clean and well maintained. The property itself was kept up very nice as well. I would/will absolutely stay there again!

Stacey greeted us at the front desk like we were best friends. All the staff seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. The rooms (we stayed 4 nights on 2 visits) were clean and comfy. Breakfast was included and amazing. If you want quiet and breathtaking South Dakota sunsets this is the place! And all for very reasonable price.

We stayed here for 1 night. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I got a restful night of sleep which rarely happens when I travel. The pool looked nice and has late hours for adults. The breakfast was good with good variety. If in the area again, I will definitely stay here again.

Wow! Very clean hotel, friendly staff, the best breakfast we’ve ever had at a hotel. Diane, the breakfast attendant made me an omelette the first morning, I had a blueberry waffle the second morning. We wish we could take Diane home with us, such a friendly lady!

There pool was great, the perfect temperature, and they had kids floatation aids you could borrow, and the pool towels were nice and big (not those tiny ones you get at other hotels).

They always have hot coffee ready and the lobby was home like with amazing mounts on the walls and a large library.

We will definitely be back.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, rooms opposite the interstate were quiet, breakfast was good! The bar serves wine & beer. Pool area is nice size. Will definitely stay there again!

It’s a nice clean hotel that’s close to the interstate and a gas station that pretty much has almost everything you’d need. Also, be sure to order the spare ribs from big J’s roadhouse!!! They’re in humbult, but they deliver to the hotel! Best ribs in the state!
Only complaints are the elevator is excessively slow and the auto closing doors are louder than crap!!! Once you train yourself to not let the doors slam, it’s fine, but they are sooooo loud!!

Avoid this hotel unless you like getting robbed. I found a miscellaneous charge on my card for $250 after staying here one night. Called the hotel and was told it was for smoking in my room, which I never did. I might have believed it was an honest mistake if they just claimed to smell it, but I knew something shady was going on when they claimed to find ashes by the window.

I did some research, and as it turns out, this is becoming an increasingly common scam in many hotels, victimizing smokers and non-smokers alike. This incident seemed to follow the same pattern. By the time you find out about it it’s too late to prove your innocence. So I guess all I can do is draw as much attention to this scam as possible and try to warn others.

UPDATE: In a response from the owner I am now being told that ashes were found on the TV stand. When I spoke to her on the phone I was told that ashes were found by the window. Both of these revelations sounded very odd to me since I never did anything in the room that would produce ashes, nor was I traveling with an urn. But either way, get your story straight.

My story remains unchanged: neither I nor any other person smoked anything in the room during my one-night stay. Why would I? I was on the first floor, just a short walk from the side door. I’m sure I stepped outside for a smoke a couple times before bed and at least once in the morning, which could be verified by checking the security camera footage.

I travel quite often and stay at lots of hotels on the road. I am always respectful of a hotel’s no-smoking policy which is always made very clear when you check in, and I have never had a false accusation leveled against me like this.

But I suppose I am wasting my words here as I am clearly not dealing with honest people as the story continues to change each time we communicate. As the old Russian saying goes, the past is unpredictable.

So what is left to do? You can’t appeal to the conscience of someone whose integrity is worth no more than 250 bucks. It’s not even about the money anymore for me. I just really don’t like being lied to. At this point I’d rather have an apology than a refund. If you made an honest mistake, say so, and all is forgiven. If you deliberately tried to cheat me out of $250, get it off your chest and all is forgiven. If you want to keep up the charade, then keep your 250 bucks. Buy yourself something nice, sweetheart. I’ll see you next time I’m in Hartford.

Decent enough hotel but nothing extravagant. Breakfast wasn’t bad, typical continental, but good amount of options. Not a fan of the bar on the first floor, literally behind the front desk. Front desk attendant seemed to hate their job, so that always makes check in a wonderful experience. Overall, not a horrible experience but I wouldn’t stay here again unless I had to.

Road conditions brought us here but man am I glad we did! This hotel was really fun and quaint. All the staff that worked on 3/16/23 deserve a raise for how pleasant and welcoming they were, especially the front desk ladies. We spent most of our time sleeping while waiting for the roads to clear and the friendly staff made sure to help us with anything. Rooms were very clean.

Road conditions got bad last night so we went in search of a place to get off the road. Pleasantly surprised to find this place. Clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a good night’s sleep and a good breakfast. Staff was friendly and rates are average. Would be happy to stop here again.
