Spent the weekend in Gladwin for a wedding @ The Riverwalk Place. Beautiful luxurious rooms, great food, lots of extras with spa and salon. Great location and so relaxing. Great restaurant, serving food indoors or out. Food for wedding was superb and appealing to the eyes. Staff and waiter’s very sharp, keeping up on you needs and wants. Great sense of humor. Lots of local shops to shop @ and restaurants in the town of Gladwin. Also a farm market which had great prices on fruits, vegetables and much more. Just canned up the bushel of delicious plums yesterday. Thank u Riverwalk Place and the town of Gladwin for a wonderful relaxing weekend.
My wife and I have been coming up to Gladwin and staying here for several years now and this place has always been great to us. Great rooms, great food, and wonderful people running the place. A 5 star rating is well deserved. You will not find a value like this anywhere at such a great price. We love the area so much my wife and I decided to build our retirement home in Gladwin’s Sugar Springs community. We’ll miss our annual visits to Riverwalk but look forward to becoming neighbors. Thanks for all of those great years.
We stayed here to visit a dying relative in the area. When we arrived there were dirty tissues in the chair cup holder, a broken light switch and some cracks in the wall plaster.
It was a nice quiet stay and worked well. It was either get 2 bedrooms at a hotel for $80 each or get a place that had 2 rooms and living area for just a little more.
Things are a bit pricey since it’s a Resort. We did not use any of the resort amenities other than going to the Rivertown inn to swim.
I have stayed in the hotel rooms and suites for business many times but this time I was traveling with family including my father who is very mobility challenged. The hotel is great for those with needs as there is an elevator, great restaurant on site, and rooms with accessibility features. Dad was able to have his special needs accommodated and we were all comfortable and really enjoyed our stay. The building has had some great improvements to the restaurant as well as an area for morning breakfast items and coffee. The boutique has really nice offerings and there is a 2 mile trail to walk. Great place to stay especially for travelers with needs. We hope to get back there very soon!
My husband and I booked the king room with a jacuzzi tub last week for our early anniversary. It was so nice and spacious and clean. Quiet and comfortable. I had a wonderful pedicure from the spa upstairs. Also upon check in the nice lady had an anniversary card waiting for us. It was a wonderful day. We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant there as well. Everything you need just footsteps away! Fantastic!
I went to a wedding & a reception and this place was beautiful. The food and staff and overall atmosphere was great. Way to go Riverwalk Place. It was definitely worth the drive.
I own Be Photographed (wedding photography) and got to shoot here for the first time recently! The gazebo outside is beautiful and they were super accommodating to move it inside during a thunderstorm/tornado. Banquet rooms could be opened up into each other to support more guests. Nice big dance floor for DJ, friends, family, and entertainment. I found the parking lot quite easy thanks to Google maps. Food was buffet style in the lobby and kept the guests talking about how good the chicken, prime rib, and coleslaw were for hours.
I go every year and stay in one of she suites with my mom, best friend, and her mom. We love it! The food was exceptional (as always) and so was the service. This year, I had a spa treatment by Rachel, and she was so helpful recommending a product that would help clear up my skin. It worked! I will always ask for her every time I go back. Riverwalk is just such a wonderful hidden gem. We can’t wait for next year’s trip!
This place looked very nice and price was 108.00 per night. However I give this a 2 star rating simply bc of how rude they are. I walked in trying to rent a room for the weekend only to be looked up n down by the lady while she was on the phone discussing personal conversation and completely ignored. I understand I was dressed comfy as I just drove 18hrs to make it to that point but that doesn’t excuse the lady acting so rudely as my money is just as good as anyone else’s! I do not recommend this place and will not be going back. The hotel right down the road however is very friendly and only 143.00 per night well worth the extra money!!
First time staying at this location. Was here for just a few days but the staff was awesome and welcoming. Had a Irish Coffee at the restaurant and it hit the spot. The grounds were well maintained, eating breakfast by the creek was nice and relaxing. I will definitely stay here again when in the area. Improvements- maybe expand breakfast in the restaurant area.
Nice and clean both room and lobby. HOWEVER, going into our room which is on the first floor with the door closed you can hear the load music thats in the lobby. I immediately went to talk with front deak and asked if this is how loud it will be later on in the night. She did say she would leave a note for housekeeping to turn it down. Fast forward to 5:45 in the morning and the music woke both my husband and I up. We tried calling both numbers that were provided and no answer. How is this acceptable to your guests to be woken up to music at 5:45 in the morning???? I booked two nights but honestly im ready to check out after night one.
Very beautiful place! Great view excellent service, clean room. Microwave right outside of room 202 in the hallway. Very disruptive. Don’t pick this room for that reason and the room heat would not go below 70 degrees regardless of room control panel settings. We even tried setting air conditioning lower to no avail.
I got married at Riverwalk on 12/22/2022. All I can say is wow! Excellent customer service from all staff members! I have to brag a little on Teresa, Event Director. She is AMAZING! We couldn’t have asked for a better venue to celebrate our day. It was magical! If you’re looking for a venue, Riverwalk is your place no matter the occasion. Suite 306 has beautiful views, the food is excellent, the salon did a fabtasic job, and both Lynn and Selena will ensure your stay is perfect!
Had such an incredible stay here. The location is absolutely perfect – only a few blocks away from many shops, bars, and restaurants etc. Very quiet as well, for being so close to fun activities you won’t hear a thing at night. Mary Ellen and Andrew were so incredibly kind and welcoming hosts – the breakfast they prepared for us was so delicious. Honestly the best bed and breakfast I’ve ever stayed in. I HIGHLY recommend staying here. This will be our go to place to stay anytime we are in Milwaukee.
Our room was spotlessly clean-housekeeping good job. We checked in at 3pm, deposited our luggage and went to family event returning after 7pm. By that time the lobby was a ghost town- no one to ask about fitness center and we couldn’t find it. No info on either the “welcome card” or the info book in the room. Our room had 2 queen beds but only 1 rolling armless desk chair. So no ability to sit and read or watch tv. That for us was the most disappointing thing.
Breakfast in the lobby was disappointing—-coffee, juice, yogurt, oatmeal fine. BUT. “Little Debbie” and “Hostess” pastries were not what I expected at a resort and spa
Front desk staff was pleasant and friendly.
Lastly (not that I cared) you on line descriptor says you have tooth brushes and tooth paste provided in the bathroom. You didn’t and the lobby was closed (limited hours) so if needed we’d have to go out.
As a place to put my head down and sleep, fine. As a fine/excellent place to say-not so much.
I recently tried their Golf Simulator, and that was amazing! Also, I’ve been here for lunch, a Christmas party, and 1 overnight stay so far, i have always been treated with kindness and respect
We had White fish dip, deep fried pitas bread. My meat loaf had a homey feel. I got the end cut of the meat loaf. The “butt.” Fiance fish & chips were over Cooked. Maybe an off day for the cook… or Kitchen. Service was friendly. Drinks meh.
Nice area by the water, good food close by (awesome wings couple of minutes away) and the rooms were clean.
Feedback – please provide normal size pillows instead of these 12×12 monstrosities. No one can get comfortable using them.
Also hotel was very empty and somehow you decided to place someone right next to me who proceeded to wake me up at 5 am by blasting the tv through the wall
Clean, quiet, and on the water. The views are great and the staff are friendly and professional. Feels like you are at your home away from home. I loved hearing the sounds of the water while I relaxed in my room. More of a family / older crowd feel here. I would definitely stay here with my wife and kids for a vacation, but would probably go for somewhere else if it was a romantic getaway with my wife.
Our room was clean and spacious. The continental breakfast has waffle irons, cheese or farmers omelets, sausage, toast, bagels, yogurt, cereal, and more stuff im probably forgetting. And their beach access is great! Less than a mile from front st and free shuttle til 10pm. It was a great stay. My only small complaint. . . Im 6’3″ and the shower head was short but removable.
Super clean inside and out! Located along a busy road, BUT super quiet behind the building along the private beach. Huge pool and nice hot tub. Breakfast is fantastic. We had a balcony room overlooking the bay. One of the best views I have ever had from a hotel. Highly recommended!!!
We had a wonderful 2 night stay. Staff is very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. I gave 4 stars because the closet door fell off the track when I tried to close it. They fixed it right away. But I think that should have been noticed prior to our stay as the track at the top was noticeably bent and looked like it had been like that for a while. Otherwise the room was great. Great view of the bay. I highly recommend a bay view room. The pool and hot tub is very clean and relaxing. We will definitely be staying here the next time we visit Traverse City.
Barely a resort, but it has a great location. The beach was nice and there was a good selection of community beach toys. Breakfast was very good, but busy and in a small room. The Victorian decor just looks outdated. We were “upgraded” to a spa room, which for us was not an upgrade. I asked to be given the room I reserved, but staff said there weren’t any available. We were traveling with a 12 and 5yo- a giant bathtub in the middle of the room was hardly convenient. I would pick somewhere different if we were to come to the area again.
This place was more than expected! Only a 15 minute walk to downtown shops but they have a free shuttle service and Nick is a great driver!
All of the staff was accommodating. Great breakfast service. Clean pool and hot tub area. Nice rooms, an arcade and workout area and a private beach area. What incredible views! Truly spectacular to watch the sunrise here and listen to the waves.
We had a wonderful stay at Bayshore. Highly recommend the beach level rooms. The 2 queen room we stayed in was clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Check-in was quick and seamless. All staff we encountered were friendly and very helpful. The beach was clean and had many loungers available. I would definitely like to return in the summer. We were here for an early fall wine tour and it was a perfect location to leave from. Only negative no restaurant really in walking distance.
Rooms are pretty standard, amenities are fine, housekeeping is by request. Complimentary breakfast is pretty standard continental fare. Out of all the machines in the gym, only half worked, which is my only major complaint. The front desk is very helpful and kind, and provided excellent service. The location is also stellar – it’s right on the beach and the views from the back rooms are lovely. Would absolutely stay here again!
Wish I could give more stars. This hotel is fantastic. Entire place from the lobby to the halls to the room is very clean and kept up. Every staff member is extremely friendly and helpful. Always willing to answer any questions and attend to your needs/requests. Coffee and hot water for tea in the lobby 24/7. You are greeted with a smile and warm welcome every time you come through the lobby. Nice beach with a deck and tables and chairs to enjoy sitting outside. Will definitely be staying here next time I’m in Traverse City.
First time staying at the Bayshore and was blown away by many things but, most of all, the service! Every employee smiled at us told us to enjoy our trip…like, every time. And it wasn’t like it was part of a script. Sure, you could tell they were well trained, but it felt like they genuinely cared about us—a rarity these days.
They also didn’t bat an eye when I asked them to store my breast milk in the freezer, which, as nursing moms know, was such a relief.
The bay view was breathtaking, the beds and pillows were comfy and everything was very clean. Plus, 24/7 (good) coffee in the lobby and a great continental breakfast!
My only minor annoyance was the shower in the spa room was tiny, so it was tough to shave my legs…but there was a huge spa tub to do so if I would’ve had the time.
Like most hotels in Traverse City, this hotel could use an update as it all feels very dated. But we had a nice stay and the continental breakfast got the job done. We did have a problem with a leak coming from above in our bathroom that we noticed after our first night. We immediately informed the front desk and they were on top of it! Looking at the issue and ultimately getting us into a room while they made the fix – all of this happened within the hour on a what I assume to be a typical busy summer weekend. Want to especially shout out Sheena who made things move in such an expeditious fashion.
The location is also really great in its proximity to the TART trail, beach (it’s right on it), and all the shopping and dining on Front Street.
We had a great stay here while in town for a wedding. The staff was SO friendly and helpful and the location couldn’t be better for both beach access and easy access downtown. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely return!!
Great hotel located right near downtown, whike still being beachfront. The room was very clean and a nice size for our family of four. The staff is what makes this hotel 5 stars. They are always smiling, welcoming, and willing to help! We felt right at home.
We loved staying here. The hotel is right on their own private beach and they have chairs and tables for you to use. My kids LOVED the indoor pool on our rainy day and we could easily walk downtown. The staff is so friendly and helpful and the place is very clean.
My husband and I spent 3 nights here in February. The staff was very friendly. There is coffee and tea available 24 hours at the front desk. We had a suite on the first floor. The balcony was great, it was warm enough we could even open the door. The room was wonderful! We loved the soaking tub! The wet bar was so great. Very clean as well, we did find a cheerio under the couch though. The photos on line are a little out of date for the living rooms. The only complaint I had was the breakfast was not that great. They really could use more healthy food choices. Would for sure stay here again.
We booked this hotel while visiting the potential college for our son. They were incredibly accommodating with suggestions, and they were very encouraging about the campus and the safety of the area. The hotel was super clean, the breakfast was amazing, and the staff was amazing. Kudos to Cotie for being a star employee ?
Very clean… we got free upgrade to the beach view which was great view. The days we were stating there all gloomy. But love the room. And the service too. They just need to change the hot breakfast menu so it won’t be the same in 2 days straight. Over all was a good stay!
We have stayed a number of times over the last 5 years and the hotel stays consistent in being a great place to stay. It’s clean, quiet and has comfortable beds. It also has decent breakfast options too. It’s a little walk to town but doable on a nice day.
We used Bayshore resort as home base for a weekend celebration with family and friends for our 50th anniversary! It turned out wonderful. Essential was the 1 bedroom apartment suite that we used to host both a dinner the arriving night for guest and breakfast the morning of departure. The apartment provided a large gathering living room/dining room that easily accommodate the 20 plus people that we had. With some do ahead effort, the full kitchen was perfect for an informal gathering! Guest were very pleased with their room and location to town when there was free time to explore. It worked perfectly (except for mother nature who decided she might want to catch up on the rain totals that weekend but didn’t dampen the festivities!). There are beautiful views of West Bay and a outdoor deck overlooking the bay. Several of the guest did take advantage of the indoor pool. Thanks to Lauren for her help and pleasant way in dealing with our needs. We couldn’t be happier with our results!
