Authentic reviews of Jersey City hotels featuring hot tubs
The bed was hollow in the center so you were just sucked into a very uncomfortable position every night. The pillows were horrible and the AC and refrigerator were loud. Front desk were rude at check-in and offered no assistance with my bags.
Valet was very nice and the restaurant was outstanding.
I brought my mom here for her birthday weekend. Sadly I did not have a very good experience and it definitely did not meet my expectations. When I first arrived and checked in, I was quoted a larger amount then what I had booked for. I asked why the amount was a little more than two hundred dollars over. I was told, it was just in case anything was charged to the room. (Not sure why I wasn’t told prior to my stay) What if I didn’t have the extra funds in my account?? After I booked this stay I found out there were no microwaves in the room so I called the hotel and was told I can request one when I checked in or at any point during my stay. When I get to the hotel, I was told there was an extra charge if I wanted a microwave. Again, why was I not told over the phone about this “extra charge”?? Since it was first time at this hotel, I asked the front desk a few questions such as what time is breakfast, what restaurants are here, where is the pool etc. I barely received a response or even a hello. The woman had a sour unpleasant attitude and didn’t seem to happy with my questions. It’s as if I was bothering her which was extremely unwelcoming. To be honest the only people who were really nice and friendly was the breakfast staff at Half Moon and the house keeping women. The hot tub was disgustingly dirty. You could see grayish colored dirt floating in the water and stuck all around the tub walls (on both days I was there) Pretty gross to try to relax in a hot tub full of peoples dead skin and dirt. To top it off the pillow cases and sheets had stains on them. I am extremely disappointed and really expected so much more from this hotel. Overall I did not have a good experience here. For the amount of money they charge, this place was just mediocre. I have stayed in many other hotels in which I paid WAY LESS and received the proper service all around.
Is the hotel nice, yes. Is it inviting from the outside, yes. Does it have a nice lobby, yes. But for a 4 star hotel I wouldn’t expect paper thin walls so I could hear the room next door’s TV blasting all night long. If I wanted that I would go to one of the hourly rate motels on Route 1. I also found it odd that in a room with a capacity for 4, the hotel provides only 3 sets of towels. This place sucked and was a total disappointment.
Make sure to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking any stay. They compare thousands of hotel sites and normally will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is the best rated in this area. I’ve been staying here for a very long time. If you choose this place you won’t regret it.
We came here on vacation. We saw all the positive reviews and decided to come. The staff was very pleasant and we were always greeted. Gordon and Jarvis suggested places for us to go to. It saved us a lot of time rather then to Google it. The room and the view were beautiful.
The check-in staff were pleasant. The room was clean. I like that the path trains are a few blocks away to go into NYC. The only disappointment was that the shower did not produce hot water quickly. I had to run the shower for a long time. So I switched to the handheld, and it finally came out. Using the shower was a bit confusing, but I figured it out. There is the Fire and Oak restaurant attached to the hotel. It would be nice to have a bridge attached to the parking lot and have our parking tickets validated. Unfortunately, parking is a separate entity. Overall, my visit was good.
Perfect for my business trip! The room was quite spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was slightly dated, but they offered small amenities and a hair dryer. No microwave in the rooms, but there is one for public use on the lobby level near the elevators. They have a restaurant ($$) & a fitness center available. Perfectly located downtown so you can venture out on foot to find other food options/ activities.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! After a long day touring New York I finally checked in at this hotel. I was tired, hungry, and thirsty. To my surprise upon entering room I saw two water bottles, a immaculate suite, and a menu for food from downstairs! It’s like they knew what I needed before I could tell them. Excellent stay and would highly recommend!
Our room had no hot water. An engineer had to come up TWICE during our stay. No vending machines or other simple amenities hotels have. We had to pay $10 to use wifi for the day. Limited food options also. Overpriced hotel for the view not worth it. Will not be back.
If you are considering the W hotel in Hoboken, run! Run AWAY from this hotel. We were here for a two day meeting with about 40 rooms and a conference room. The internet in the conference room was .58 MB download… note the decimal. Less than 1 MB. I felt like I was on AOL dial-up. The rooms were worse. It was .49 at best. I spoke to the front desk and they insisted the network was fine. Which was a bold faced lie to my face. Their credit card network was completely down. We couldn’t put credit cards on our rooms for incidentals and the hotel wouldn’t accept credit cards, so we had to pay for food and drinks with cash. But yes, their network was up and running. The hotel has a great location, but the customer service and amenities are horrible.
Great view of the Manhattan skyline with plush and luxurious bed and bath!
Standing shower with mirror inside and Italian amenities, and free Showtime for the stay.
Oh, and the large FIT fitness center has a trove of equipment with punching gloves.
Location easily walkable to PATH and quiet! Would recommend as a top choice hotel if traveling to various points in Manhattan with a comfortable room away from the city!
I just spent my anniversary at this hotel & will never be back. The room was absolutely gross and not even cleaned, our fridge was leaking coolant, the water pressure was so terrible, I ended up using the bathroom sink to wash. It felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff by even being there- not very warm & friendly… We ended up leaving a day early because we were just over it! Having said this, the view of the city was absolutely gorgeous & the bed was comfortable- but far from being a 4 star hotel-?
By far the best hotel ever! It was our ten year anniversary, and they put chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in our room. This truly touched me since our last hotel treated us like a burden. Thank you so much for the highest quality of service.
We had Easter brunch at the Halifax restaurant in the hotel. It was wonderful! They bring out a plate of everything on the brunch menu and you can then request to have more of the dishes you like best. You get a bottle of OJ and strawberry juices to make your own mimosas and let me tell you they make sure your champagne is always full. The food was so good, service was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful. Can’t wait to go back.
