I don’t ever think I’ve stayed in a more home-like hotel in my entire life. My best friend and I live many states apart and planned a weekend together meeting exactly halfway for each of us. That so happened to be Des Moines, but we wanted to stay somewhere low-key and just have a good time doing whatever the wind blew us to. My friend found this place and wow, reviews don’t do it justice.

First of all, if you’re coming from out of state, this is the perfect place because it’s right off the interstate. But yet it’s quiet enough and you don’t notice it. It’s also located near anything and everything you may need while in town.

Then you enter the hotel. It is so rustic and welcoming. It’s so well maintained too. The fireplace both outside AND inside, are so much fun just to sit next to and mingle with other guests. We did while we stayed and it really makes the experience. Everyone we met was so friendly – staff included. Speaking of staff, they go above and beyond. Our first face when we got there was Anthony. Just a sweetheart. So laidback and made us feel right at home. Breakfast staff are also so nice. Down to earth. Speaking of breakfast – they cook everything on camping fire-things. Their breakfast was so good for a hotel breakfast! A wide variety of things and something for everyone. And I assure you, if there was something you needed, I have no doubt in my mind they’d try to make it happen for you.

The rooms are older but well maintained and clean. The room we had was huge! It was a king room and so much space. The decor was our favorite. The beds were comfortable and afforded us many naps and good nights sleep. We were on the top floor so can’t speak much to the sounds or walls but we didn’t hear any other guests near us all weekend. And I hope people didn’t have to hear us laughing constantly….and loudly, if so, sorry!

If you’re the type of person expecting state of the art, cutting edge, fancy hotel rooms with staff that feel and act forced to work there, then this place isn’t for you. If you want a place where not only the staff treat you and talk to you like family, but the other guests too, and are down to mingle with anyone and everyone staying there (if you want to) then this most definitely is the place to stay. We had so much fun on our girls trip and the hotel honestly was a huge part of that. We can’t say enough good things about this place. We will be back. And I’m trying to recruit other friends to also come back down sometime too just for a fun getaway.

Immaculately clean room (and bathroom) and very quiet. The bed was comfortable. Super nice people working at the desk and a lovely breakfast attendant. Free breakfast was great. There was everything we needed. Oatmeal, eggs, meat, biscuits, delicious hash browns. Delicious coffee – I chose the light roast. We had fun playing Scrabble by the fireplace (it was lit). Very cozy, comfortable lobby. There is also a fire pit outside. The pool area looked very nice but we didn’t have time to use it. Excellent value. We would recommend it and want to come back.

We stayed here for just one night. The service was amazing, the rooms were clean and rustic. I have long hair so I was personally impressed with the full sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner! The breakfast was fresh and the variety was nice. It was quiet and well structured. We will most definitely stay here again!!!

VERY friendly service! VERY clean, quiet rooms with comfy beds! EXCEPTIONAL pool and hot tub!!! Breakfast looked very nice too, with such a cozy space to enjoy it, though we had other breakfast plans and didn’t try it. I will definitely return, and will plan to eat breakfast and enjoy the hot tub again!

We just left the wildwood lodge after a couple night stay and I have to say that we were very pleased with our experience. The rooms are older but still well kept and clean. Breakfast every morning and a fire pit in the evenings. The pool was perfect for the kids and plenty of room to carve out a space for our family and be comfortable with the the other guests. Renee at the front desk was top notch with customer service. 10/10 for her! We will be repeat guests.

Cozy cabin atmosphere. Board games and fireplace in the “great room” style lobby. Continental breakfast with many options also in lobby gave it a true family feel. I love that the hotel is close to the trail system. Nice fitness room, pool, and hot tub. We’ll be back.

What a wonderful, clean, and cozy place to stay!! Location was nice. Enjoyed the fire pit on a gorgeous summer night. The breakfast menu was great and set up so nice, food nice and hot and plentiful!! Wish we could have stayed longer. Staff was polite and welcoming (even when checking in @ 9:30 at night)!!!! Beds were hard (reason for 4 stars vs 5). But will definitely stay again if in the area.

So CLEAN great service and such unique spot! My family came into town and stayed here and it was not only the best price but best experience to stay. Great pool and hot tub! Such spacious rooms I was so impressed. Breakfast was delicious too!

Very clean, well staffed, friendly atmosphere. When I visited they were replacing the roof so it made getting in a bit challenging. Once I navigated the entry, I found a great room with easy access to local activities. The lobby area is neatly decorated in a camping type decorum. Breakfast was top notch, rivaling many high class catered events. The breakfast burrito station in itself made the stay worthwhile. Definitely a gem on long road trip. Only downside was a slow internet, but when you are here in vacation, who cares!!!

What a great place to relax and the staff are great. Outdoor fire pit, late adult pool hour and an included breakfast that you won’t see at your discount chain. Small, local group of hotels that still know what hospitality is. Best BBQ nearby is Smokey Ds…..

No point in looking for another hotel. This is very clean and welcoming. Plenty of food in the area as well as shopping.

The pool is very nice and well kept.

Honestly try this before a chain hotel.

For the price, is a good place to stay a night or two. The pool and spa looked nice and that was very clean. The fire going outside was nice to sit by for a few minutes, added to the ambiance. Also has a good location, and easy to get to.
We liked the newer shower, jacuzzi in room and the bed was comfortable. Some of the furniture and carpeting in the room was a bit dated, but it was clean.
The staff was all genuinely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice and had a good amount options.

We were very pleased with our stay. The room was spacious and very clean. The decorative cabin theme was so unique and inviting. Nice pool and I took advantage of the exercise room. Fire Pit was lit at night and met some really nice people. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the staff was pleasant and very kind. I can’t put into words how nice this motel/lodge is. We will be coming back!

Only rating this a 2 because the maintenance woman is a rockstar and the bed was clean and comfortable otherwise would have been a solid 1. Ignored by front desk staff just trying to get my keys after pre check in…finally got the keys. Bathroom had no lights, 2 burned out bulbs found, over bed one more burned out, bed side table lamp busted, desk lamp completely missing it’s bulb. Took multiple contacts to get said awesome maintenance woman to be engaged by front desk. Thought we were good. Then go down to enjoy the pub and get a bite to eat, a fellow traveler said “I guess there is no bartender” and the place was deserted. Go ask front desk and confirmed no bartender…asked about food and was directed to their pathetic and over priced snack bar. Don’t stay here .. I feel sorry for the staff that is left, horribly run hotel and owners should be ashamed.

The person identified herself as the, supervislor/manager, Quinn Dosunnu was very disrespectful to me. She said we had to move from 117 to 103. The man I had coordinated with when reserving the 117 room understood my wife has Parkinson’s and said we could stay in 117. Dosunnu said she didn’t care that I HAD to move but gave no reason why. She is a pathetic manager and doesn’t really understand her responsibilities.
I will NEVER return to that dump. It was filthy, burned out lights, filthy shower curtains, tv didn’t work,

My Niece, and her new husband, had their wedding event in the court yard, the staff did such a great job of setting up. My room was Clean, comfortable, and I slept well. The breakfast provided was very good. The Staff at the front desk were courteous and friendly.

Stayed here for a few days while visiting family and this place is an oasis in downtown Sioux City. Hotel is clean, rooms are spacious and the bed was quite comfortable. Staff was great and no matter what time of day or night, there was always someone at the front desk to answer questions, provide additional towels or to purchase a snack or drink from their convenience store. They have coffee and water available 24 hours which is great for those early risers. There is also outside space with plenty of seating and a small pond where you can enjoy a late drink or an early morning cup of coffee. Hotel is centrally located so you can walk to the Hard Rock Casino, Historic 4th street or the river front.

My wife and I have stayed here several times. When we want to go on a date night in Sioux City, this is our go to Hotel. We also het a jacuzzi tub in our room, but this time we got an absolutely massive Master Suite. Per normal, this room was amazing. Own private balcony, fireplace! We loved it! Fairly pricey for one night, but worth it.

When my husband and I arrived for our stay, the hotel was warm and welcoming. When we got into our room, it was clean and stocked. The water pressure in the shower was amazing and the temperature was perfect! The pool and hot tub was really cool with the waterfall effect which you can go under and through to the outdoor pool. Our stay was definitely 5 star rating! totally recommend!

I’m not sure where to begin to describe what an incredible hotel this is. Our son has cerebral palsy and drives a power wheelchair. The room they recommended for us worked beautifully! There was plenty of room for him to move around. The friendliness was top notch as well as the cleanliness. Definitely giving this five stars for everything! Is very highly recommend!!!

Bernadette at the front desk was amazing! My jucazi suit was good, but I grossed out having the bathroom sink in the main living space. Completely separate from the bathroom.
The bed was bouncy but comfortable. I really enjoyed the views of downtown, it’s nice and close to some great locations.

Great location, cozy atmosphere, unique layout. All at a good price. Definitely glad I stayed here. Hotel staff was also friendly with recommendations for things around town. Only complaint was the air units were a little loud, but maybe that’s just the price of the top floor. Would stay again.

This hotel is very clean and comfortable with very professional and accommodating staff!! We just spent the weekend for a family reunion. 25 people, 7 rooms to include a double queen, a few king deluxe and a couple family rooms that provided comfortable sleeping and living quarters for all. Grounds are beautiful and well maintained, breakfast was great and the entire time we spent there was relaxing and hassle free! Kids loved swimming in the indoor/outdoor pool and playing in the courtyard. Highly recommend! We will choose this hotel again next year!!!

Rooms are nice and clean. The only thing that was not 5 stars was the free breakfast service. I was trying to read (forgot my glasses in the room) the instructions for the pancake machine and I was told that they were closed at 9:30 am. I looked at the clock and it said that it was 9:34 am. She then proceeded to turn off the pancake machine instead of helping me.

Everybody here has been very nice and helpful. Breakfast is pretty good and they actually have half decent coffee. Rooms are clean and as described. No bath tub though. The bed is a little lumpy and the sheets keep coming off the corner of the bed but overall pretty comfortable. The highlight has been the indoor/outdoor pool. The water is nice and warm and swimming outside, as bitter cold as it has been, is a really neat experience. It’s a shame the hot tub went down the very first day of our stay.

Always clean and creativity decorated rooms. Service is A1 whenever we need something. Staff are knowledgeable about the local festivites and road conditions, and the location is right next to the hard rock casino and hotel, which is a massive draw for people of all ages. This place is one of the best in the area. I have been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you won’t be disappointed.

We loved the overall decorating theme-north woodsy feel. Very friendly and helpful staff. A Bar happy hour, quiet backyard landscaping with a pond/waterfall feature, and a nice swimming pool.

I was planning a birthday party at another hotel in Sioux City because they had a slide… well after conversing with said Hotel, they wouldn’t be able to allow me to have a birthday party there unless I purchased the business meeting room. After I purchased the meeting room, they still wouldn’t be able to stay the night. So I’d be spending over $250.00 to have a party just to swim for a couple hours. So I reached out to Angela Lias, Sales at Stoney Creek, and asked her what she could do. She found me a room that was suitable AND where the kids could stay the night… all under the price that the other hotel was going to charge. Angela saved my kiddos birthday party and me a bunch of stress. She was absolutely WONDERFUL. Pick the Stoney Creek!
