We stayed at The Capital Hotel in Little Rock last night and couldn’t have been happier with our experience. From the moment we arrived, the service and atmosphere stood out. Billy at Valet and Kyle at the Bar & Grill both went above and beyond—kind, friendly, and genuinely enjoyable to talk with. They really helped make our stay memorable.

If you eat at the restaurant, do yourself a favor and get the lamb—it was absolutely fantastic, the best we’ve ever had. The foyer and common areas are stately and elegant, truly fitting the name “Capital.” Our room was a bit on the smaller side, but it was spotless, the bed and bath were excellent, the TV worked perfectly, and we slept soundly with no noise at all.

This hotel is truly amazing, and we will definitely be returning.

I had the pleasure of staying at The Capital Hotel, and from start to finish, it was an incredible experience. The hotel itself is stunning, beautifully maintained, and welcoming, but what truly sets it apart is the outstanding staff who go above and beyond for their guests.
I especially want to highlight Chandler , a member of the team who made my stay exceptional. He introduced himself warmly right when I needed assistance, and his professionalism and kindness left a lasting impression. I had an issue with my room’s AC, and Chandler didn’t just brush it off or pass it along—he personally took the time to make sure it was fixed quickly and properly. He checked in with me afterward to ensure everything was comfortable, which shows how much he genuinely cares about guests’ experiences.

We had such a fantastic experience at this hotel. The rooms and lobby were super clean, and the whole place just felt fresh and well cared for. The architecture was beautiful and open, with lots of space to relax and enjoy. There’s an outdoor covered balcony on the second floor that was really nice. The staff were all incredibly kind and welcoming, and valet made everything easy. I loved the rosemary scented shower soaps (they smelled amazing), and while we didn’t use them, the provided robes and slippers was a thoughtful touch, and gave a spa like experience. The hotel was very quiet and peaceful, which made a huge difference. The bed was incredibly comfortable; I’m pregnant and usually struggle to sleep, but I slept like a dream here. Overall, a very lovely stay. Highly recommend!

Capital Hotel was great. The staff were so friendly. The bartender went out of his way to make me comfortable and engage in conversation with me to inform me about the area and hotel.
The manager and waitress were so accommodating in breakfast restaurant. We had six for breakfast last minute because they were closing early, I think, because they were having an Easter brunch upstairs, but they still served us all. A big thank you to Chef for doing that!

From front desk agents to housekeeping, they were all so nice. To me, it says a lot when service is consistent with every department. I would highly recommend the hotel.

OUTSTANDING experience. The deluxe king suite was beautifully adorned and had cathedral ceilings with crown molding. The furniture was antique yet exceptionally well maintained. The turndown service was well done and they even filled the ice bucket in anticipation of my arrival each night!!!!
The nicest touch was the personalized welcome note from the manager and the tin of candied pecans!!!!
Lovely establishment and staff. Would definitely recommend for special occasions….btw the elevator was beautiful and huge…

My wife and I stayed here our first and only time for my birthday this summer and were treated like royalty. Extra friendly employees. Clean. Beautiful. Because it was slow, they upgraded us to a wonderful suite. Right across from the convention center. Easy walk to food and the rivermarket area. Kitty corner from the Old State House, which is a great place to visit for free. Capital Bar and grill has great food and nice atmosphere. Everything is pricey but worth it.

In my opinion, the Capital Hotel is the finest hotel in the state of Arkansas. Not only did they nail the interior design and the food and beverage offerings, but also have proven to be masters of the guest experience. Katie and her team continue to amaze their guests with a continual effort to surprise and delight. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel, but the people who work there are what makes it so special. I had a great time here, and this is the only place I will stay in downtown Little Rock.

What a fabulous hotel, the history is amazing. Wonderful front desk staff who helped me through a very difficult time. They always had a bright smile and words of encouragement, which helped through. The restaurant is an amazing choice and not to be missed.

Absolutely delightful luxury hotel that happily caters to your needs. I felt under dressed walking in even though I was wearing a polo and slacks. Yet, the hotel manages to be luxurious without being pretentious. The front desk staff put me at ease with their polite manners and a bag of pecans.

The only on-site parking available is valet, but is well worth it.

My husband and I were married at the Empress 6/7/25. From our arrival the day before to our departure, we could not have asked for a better experience. The home itself is an exceptional beauty, couple that with Antonio’s hospitality, charisma, and story telling ability and we were hooked! I have never stayed in a strangers home and felt more loved or more cared for. He went above and beyond for us. We stayed in the Garden Suite. The room was beautiful. The bed was so comfy. Everything was spotless! If you are looking for an experience, vacation, a good story or to meet one of the most remarkable humans on this planet…. Run don’t walk to the Empress in Little Rock! If I could give a hundred stars, I would! We will be visiting again.

I have never stayed at a better place in my life. It was more than “a home away from home” for my spouse and I. The Empress gives that warm feeling you get while waking up on a Saturday morning at grandma’s house to the smell of a wonderful breakfast coupled with unlimited treasures all of the place, each with a unique story.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a warm welcome and briefed about our reservation. We stayed in the Cook’s Cottage Suite. It was nice and private. It was too cold to fully enjoy the sun porch but it was still beautiful and I hope to return soon when its warmer. There is a full kitchen available. The living room is also extremely comfortable with a giant big comfy couch (that I did enjoy a short nap on moments after sitting down). There is also a washer/dryer included in the Cottage. The master suite was very cozy and comes with rear reading room that my wife and I held a short devotional together before bed. The 2nd room was also very cozy. I think my parents enjoyed that bed a little too much because after dinner, I never saw them again and only heard snores until the morning.

In between check-in and going to dinner that night. My wife and I sat in the mansion and spoke for several hours. I think it was around 4 or maybe 5 hours, just learning about the home. We hadn’t even ventured into the dining room, library, living room or upstairs or to the tower yet. We simply sat and talked in the drawing room until the sun went down. Coming from Los Angeles and the tumultuous fires, it was nice to find peace where we could. I just wish it were a little warmer to have went and sat in the zen garden to meditate and reflect on life.

Going back to what I said earlier about breakfast, that too was phenomenal. Coupled with coffee, tea, OJ, and water we were given waffles, bacon and fresh fruit. My mouth is watering right now. Even after checking out, I had a few hours to kill before my next event and instead of exploring more of Little Rock, I wanted to learn more and more about the home.

That being said, I didn’t even visit the Carriage House. I hope to stay in the The Hemingway Spa Suite or The Majestic Spa Suite next time.

There is just so many things to talk about but I won’t spoil any stories or info tidbits. You have to spend a night here, even if only for one night (as Luther says). I highly recommend it. I hope to stay here much longer on my next visit.

As for location: the home is nearby a Walgreens and other restaurants and not far from downtown at all. There is also a fun escape room mansion nearby. There is a small parking lot/drive way and ample street parking as well.

We had the pleasure of staying in a couple rooms at The Empress and both were incredible. Our host was wonderful. Everything was clean and well maintained . The decor so beautiful and beds were so comfortable.. then there was the bathtubs!
A beautiful end to our adventure would highly recommend staying you ever get the opportunity.

What an wonderful place! We were traveling to Little Rock with our pup to drop off a couple of paintings at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts and came upon this beautiful GEM. The hosts Antonio and Keith were fabulous as was everything else about this welcoming establishment. Our room “The Majestic Spa Suite” was located in the Carriage House and perfect for an overnight stay. Our only complaint was that we couldn’t stay longer as we had to trek back home to New Orleans the following day. We truly hope to make this our go to choice when visiting Little Rock!

Our experience at The Empress of Little Rock was nothing short of magic, thanks to Keith & Antonio. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that they put their hearts and souls into creating a truly remarkable experience for their guests.

The mansion itself exudes character and history, with every nook and cranny telling a story of times gone by. Keith and Antonio’s attention to detail in the restoration is absolutely impeccable, and it’s clear that they have poured their passion into preserving the mansion’s original charm.

Upon our arrival, we were delighted to find out that they had graciously upgraded our room to the carriage house. It was a beautiful and spacious retreat, perfect for celebrating my birthday. To top it off, they had thoughtfully arranged local pastries for us, adding an extra touch of warmth and hospitality.

Keith and Antonio’s knowledge of the mansion’s history was truly impressive. They took the time to give us a grand tour, sharing captivating stories and anecdotes along the way. It was fascinating to learn about the mansion’s past and the people who had once called it home.

Not only were they well-versed in the mansion’s history, but they were also incredibly knowledgeable about the city of Little Rock itself. They provided us with excellent recommendations for restaurants and attractions, ensuring that we had a memorable experience exploring the area.

One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious breakfast that Keith prepared each morning. We would eagerly gather on the veranda, enjoying the beautiful surroundings while savoring the mouthwatering dishes he crafted.

As we enjoyed our breakfast, Antonio would regale us with captivating stories from his illustrious career. His charisma and charm made for delightful company, and we found ourselves thoroughly entertained by his anecdotes.

Lastly, we cannot thank Keith and Antonio enough for welcoming our beloved pup into their home. It can be challenging to find pet-friendly accommodations, but they went above and beyond to provide a safe and secure fenced-in garden where our furry friend could roam freely. Their thoughtfulness and consideration made our stay even more special.

In conclusion, we wholeheartedly recommend Keith and Antonio’s charming Victorian mansion to anyone seeking a truly exceptional experience. Their genuine warmth, attention to detail, and passion for hospitality create an atmosphere that is both inviting and unforgettable. We are grateful for the memories we made during our stay and cannot wait to return to this hidden gem in Little Rock.

Absolutely loved our stay here! First of all: the house is a true architectural gem and it’s even more beautiful in person than it looks in pictures. Second, there are pet-friendly rooms and a walled garden that is absolutely perfect for a dog to run around! Third, it’s a short walk to a really cute area in downtown Little Rock with great restaurants and shops. And last but not least, the breakfast was delicious and included blackberries grown right in the front yard!

While on a road trip I decided to stop in Little Rock for the night. Wanting my quick stay to be an experience, I booked a rather last minute stay at Empress of Little Rock. Antonio the owner called me to confirm and waited on me to arrive. He was so very gracious. Along with the very charming Keith who checked me in. I can only describe the Empress Mansion as unbelievably dreamy! Ever detail is perfect. It’s just an amazing place to stay. I slept so well that night, and had to know the origin of the bed linens the next morning because they were so very comfortable. The breakfast, prepared by Keith, and served outside on the amazing wrap around porch kept me sitting long past breakfast, it was so yummy! The whole experience was just amazing and I’m already planning a trip back to spend a few days at the Empress. Thank you Antonio and Keith for the lovely stay at your beautiful home in Little Rock!

Other than the wedding we were in town for, staying at the Empress was our favorite thing about Little Rock! Conveniently located right between the airport and downtown. Walking distance to nearly everywhere we went. Absolutely gorgeous rooms and amenities. Delicious and beautiful breakfast (not to mention they kindly catered to my vegan eating). And such hospitable and welcoming hosts who made us feel perfectly at home. Can’t say enough good things!

We loved everything about our stay at The Empress. Every detail has been thought of in the mansion. It is immaculate in care and cleanliness. We loved the tour and learning the history of this magnificent home. The owners were a delight. We will be back to visit in the future. The room was exactly as described and the photos really don’t do it justice. Breakfast was delicious and well plated.
