Authentic reviews of Georgia hotels featuring in-room Jacuzzis
We love this place! We recently last week stayed at Cupid’s Hideout Cabin for our late anniversary celebration since we were both sick in December. We try to stay here once a year. It is close to where we live. We met one of the owners that next day at breakfast she was very nice, and we enjoyed our chat with her. We so enjoyed our relaxing stay and the wonderful hot tub in the cabin. Always peaceful and we had the best cheeseburger from the restaurant that first night. Service is always great and so love seeing the cats on site as well outdoors roaming around. It is just a beautiful place for us to get away for a short trip and the room is always clean and they are so welcoming. Love the little gift shop on site as well. I highly recommend this place to anyone to stay and would be such a lovely place for a wedding. We look forward to coming back and our next stay soon! Thank you, Forrest Hills Resort for always making our stay great!
We looked at some AirBnBs before coming here and stumbled on Forrest Hills Resort. It had everything that we wanted. It was such a great experience. The hot tub in the room was awesome. The wood burning fireplace made the perfect atmosphere for a cold winter night. I’m definitely coming back.
We loved our stay tjere. Nice, clean, comfortable cabins. Great place to relax. Didn’t do activities. It raised the whole time we were there but my main goal was relaxing so the rain didn’t bother me much. Their restaurant was superb. Can’t wait to go again. Maybe not in the winter again.
We wanted to love this place. Truly. Especially since it’s family owned but we won’t be back to stay. Our room was clean, but not very well maintained. The mattress was very uncomfortable and noisy, if you rolled over it made plastic squeaky noises and woke us up. If we were lucky enough to go to sleep. The first night we had a family over us that stomped across the floor until 1:30AM and you heard it all. We stopped by the office and they told we could have called in a noise complaint. Also told us the family checked out and only a couple would be staying Saturday night. Wasn’t any better. We finally called at 11:00 (the have a no noise policy from 10:00PM to 10:00AM) and the guy who answered the phone didn’t bother to identify himself so I asked if it was the number to report a noise complaint. After I told him the situation I got a “I’ll see what I can do”. I guess he paid them a visit because they got quiet, for 10 minutes. Then they were up matching across the floor till nearly 1:00. So not much sleep. We got a couples massage, which they included a gratuity for on the charge before we got the massage. My husband’s massage was fantastic with Stephanie. Mine was just OK, very sweet older lady. The massage area has a very bad musty smell in the waiting area. We had the complementary breakfast 2 mornings and it was good. We ate in the restaurant 2 nights: the burger was great, the wings were really good. The fried chicken wasn’t. Their steak fries were great. Our server was nice but rough around the edges, slamming plates and glasses down on the table. I don’t expect fancy service, but she could be trained to be a bit more quiet. My biggest complaint is that their lodges (we stayed in the TreeTopper Lodge) wasn’t built with any soundproofing between the floors or the walls. I came home from the “For-Rest” Resort, exhausted, sadly. We’d really love to come back and go horseback riding but we won’t be staying here again.
We stayed here over a December weekend and it was wonderful! We stayed in an updated lodge room and it overlooked the woods. It was quiet, serene, and the staff was wonderful! They responded when we needed them, and they were helpful as well. Dinner and breakfast were very nice and convenient. Horses, and pretty views! The best part is location! Christmas in Dahlonega, hike Amicalola Falls, lots of wineries and great restaurants all within 15 to 30 minutes for this quiet sanctuary. Loved it and will go back in the summer!
My family and I were there for New Year’s and we loved it, I can say that it was the best vacation in recent years… I totally recommend this place, super beautiful, clean and spacious rooms, good attention from the administrative staff… the Massages are fabulous in that place, we were missing days to continue enjoying…. I hope to come back soon .
12/23/24 We’ ll be coming back but there are some things we are hoping we don’t encounter again at the treetop cabin
PROS From the start we will welcomed with Morgan’s superior and professional customer service skills. She was extremely informative great personality very welcoming very accommodating with a very assuring, colorful, and warm personality. (She wanted us to know we were important despite us only staying one day.)
Xavier the chef was very talented and totally accommodating to our dietary restrictions. Both dinner and breakfast servers were fantastic. The morning chef came out to check if everything was good.
The ambiance of our cabin was warm and inviting and thematic. Very quiet. The lobby has a TV and practically a kitchen dining area and it was very nice to have dinner with the children to prevent any mess in the room. I really appreciated the The ambience in the room. The decor seem newly renovated and I liked that. Little things like a vortex fan to circulate air available was much appreciated
CONS- There was a vacuum cleaner, however the vacuum cleaner was so clogged I had to unclog it and the amount of dust that came out, of housekeeping was using that vacuum cleaner to clean the rooms It wasn’t cleaning anything which I attached a picture to show the amount of dust that came out of the vacuum cleaner to unclog
What I did not like was the amount of dust that was in our room that showed the lack of staff or protocol to ensure a thoroughness of sanitation. The same was with the amount of hair left that clogged the shower.
At one point we needed to cool the room down because Georgia in December has its days in the ’60s (with high pressured days before rain). However, the a/c stopped working (I’m guessing because it’s probably old as I was.)
Finally what I did not like was the lack of security with the porch door. I did not like that the porch door opens outwardly instead of inwardly nor was they’re an ability to put a chain lock swing bar portable door lock or door stopper to prevent forced entry door because there is no way to prevent. The blinds showed gaps to where anyone outside can look inside at the most intimate moments and spaces.
If you’re planning a getaway this is a good place to truly get away because it’s in the country and cell service is limited, makes it a solid place to disconnect. The front desk staff was helpful during booking and our stay there; I wasn’t a fan of the coffee in our room (picky coffee person here!) and Crystal went above and beyond to brew some of her own coffee for me, that was very kind and excellent customer service in my book. The horse back riding was a lot of fun and our guide was great! The only thing I would suggest is include gratuity in the ride prices so there’s no surprise “added fee” after you’ve paid for your rides. I’m all for giving gratuity, just make it known to guests they’re getting charged for it. The dinner and desserts were tasty! The breakfast was not bad the first and second morning we were there, your typical standard breakfast that’s included in your stay and it was good. Christmas breakfast was not good, I hate to say. I’ve never seen a big container of boiled eggs offered at a breakfast buffet, the other mornings it was scrambled eggs. The other thing that stood out was the basket of browned bananas-these could have easily been turned into a banana bread, but should not have been offered at a buffet in my opinion. There were a lot more options at breakfast during the beginning of our stay, just seemed odd that the Christmas breakfast was so bare and unprepared for.
Update: The business demonstrated its commitment to customer satisfaction by following up with my parents on their unfavorable experience and promptly reimbursing them for their inconvenience.
Old Review: My parents went here for a romantic getaway and they feel what they paid was not worth it. Their fireplace did not work, even though they had an electrician come in multiple times to attempt, but they finally gave up – which was a mood killer for a romantic weekend during the winter. Then the room wasn’t really a cabin feel. Yeah it had a jacuzzi, but when you think you are looking to getting a cabin feel, it is quite the opposite. Now don’t get me wrong, they raved about the food, but they told me that they would not recommend this place to no one. All it was, was even with the weather, you could have walked, but they said their experience was “ridiculous”.
We did the horseback riding for my niece’s birthday and everyone we encountered was AMAZING! From the booking to the ladies who rode/walked the trail with us. We had a huge party of 10 all together with 3 children who had never rode before. They were patient with all the kids and even walked the trail with one of them. We will definitely be back and we always share the name when people ask where to go!!
This is our second time visiting here- first time was 4 years ago for our honeymoon- this time it was our 4th anniversary – The staff is extremely friendly- the cabin was cute and cozy- however some improvements could be made – we couldn’t get any of the extra heaters around cabin to work so luckily we brought our own space heaters- We ate at the on-site restaurant one night and food was delicious- again the staff was friendly- Breakfast in the am was so so- I think the cook had a lot to do with that as sausage was undercooked one day over cooked the next- the pancakes were burnt and the eggs were watery- so not my favorite- and I was in the military and the chow hall food was better- But overall we had a great time- the horses are super friendly along with the kitty cats that roam the property- I would recommend visiting- They just need to do some More up keep of the cabins in my personal opinion!!! Oh and the best part is the hot tub in the room!!!
My husband and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner here in the Rose Garden Room. It was beautiful!!! The staff worked with us on exactly what we wanted and we were able to come in the morning of to be able to set up and add our own personal touches. It’s a gorgeous space and we all had a great time!!!
Nice resort to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city!! My husband and I loves it..nice..quiet and secluded..you have a restaurant onsite that serves a free delicious breakfast and serves lunch and dinner so you don’t really have to leave the cabin to go search for food. It’s horseback riding, a pool and massage services onsite as well.
I have stayed at this resort many times. I love the property and the people, HOWEVER, I just made a reservation yesterday, notifying the management I only needed one night and I was given this reservation. All is well, until this morning they called and cancelled this reservation because it being a holiday weekend they required 2 night reservations. I cant stay two nights. I only need one night. This was not my fault. This is the property teams fault. They gave me a one night stay and then changed their mind. Yet, I had to cancel my trip. This is NOT customer service. This is NOT putting the customer first. I am SUPER DISSAPOINTED. Don’t promise something, then pull it back. This is NOT how you treat any guest. Especially a repeat guest.
Me and my boyfriend stay there Wednesday to Friday, it was truly amazing. The people there was so nice and awesome. They treat you like family. The site was beautiful ❤️ also the lodge we stay in was out of the world, words couldn’t describe how wonderful it was. The view from our lodge was really nice. The food there was good, they know how to cook a good meal for you. I had a blast there especially riding horses with my boyfriend. I made some more great memories. ❤️? I would recommend EVERY body to come here if you need a break from the real world or even need some relax time.
I stayed here for 5 days. Loved it. The staff are really wonderful and treated you like family. They were so welcoming. The dinners were great. Loved Chef Reggie and all the dining staff. We went horseback riding and loved it. My trip was great and I can’t wait to come back.
We stayed Tuesday-Saturday and every day was amazing. It is peaceful and relaxing. We got married at fox hollow gazebo and we could not have asked for a better day. They made sure our wedding was special and memorable. I would come back and recommend this romantic spot.
My wife and I stayed in a cabin at Forrest Hills resort. This was not our first visit. 38 years ago, in 1984 we stayed here while we were traveling after our wedding. The cabin where we stayed this time (Lovebird 1) was great. There was a nice fireplace, in-room hot tub, and a very comfortable king size bed. Since our last stay, the resort has expanded from a few cabins, to now hosting weddings, serving great food ( a full hot breakfast was included) and many more cabins, lodges, and other accommodation choices. I would recommend visiting here. The staff treated us like family. This was a surprise trip for my bride of 38 years, and we had a wonderful time.
Wanted to see the fall leaves and enjoy a small mountain town. Thankfully we were able to snag the last cabin here. We had such a good time relaxing and recharging. Secluded and off the beaten path. Made friends with some locals. Staff was friendly. Can’t say much about the property because we didn’t spend much time on site or use the amenities. However, we enjoyed our comfy cabin with a wood burning fire, a private hot tub, a porch swing, wine from local vineyards, and a yummy breakfast every morning. My favorite part of each day was watching the horses run to and from pasture. Much needed time For-Rest
Had a girls long weekend at the resort and we were treated like rock stars! Spacious/clean rooms with king comfy beds! Staff was amazing! We were able to meet the owners which were just as nice as the resort! Food for breakfast and dinner was awesome! Could not have had a better time and place anywhere!! Thank you all for a great time! Would highly recommend Forrest Hills Resort “ For Rest” as the owner pointed out to us!!
This place is wonderful! My husband and I came for just a weekend and had the best time. I fell in love with Jackie at the front desk. She is so sweet and it was like talking with an old friend. I can’t say enough about her! The grounds are beautiful. The hot tub in the cabin was just what we needed. The cabins are adorable and spaced out to where you don’t feel on top of each other. We will be back!
Our room was really clean, and the lobby was really cute (especially since it was decorated for Christmas). The staff were nice and helpful whenever we interacted wit them. Overall a great experience for us, and we plan on staying again!
We stay here 3 times a year for 8 years and ALWAYS treated well. Spacious rooms, hot breakfast and a welcoming main lobby to relax with friends and relatives
My husband and I were here for our nephew’s wedding. We stayed 3 days. All three days were absolutely great. When we arrived (after an extremely long day of traveling), we were greeted by wonderful desk staff. Check in was quick and efficient. Our room, a King Studio suite, was clean and spacious. And the cleanliness was there for all three days. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. We loved making our own waffles. Evelyn, who was at the front desk was quite courteous and helpful. On our last day, I went to print our boarding passes and was unable to get the printer to work. A very helpful staff member, (I believe his name was Cham), was able to get them printed for me. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay.
We arrived on Monday, after calling for clear directions because Google is junk. Evelyn was so helpful with directions. She got us checked in quickly. The pool was fantastic. It was warm and relaxing. (Pool bathroom was dirty) The young lady that made breakfast, I didn’t get her name, but she had gorgeous red hair, and a beautiful smile. She was so kind and had true southern hospitality, I really enjoyed our little conversation. I would say, Evelyn made it so nice tho. She was such a happy lady. The rooms were clean, the towels were stocked. Plenty of parking.
Rooms were a good size but overall cleanliness of the hotel left much to be desired. Housekeeping did come in and replace the towels, but didn’t vacuum or make the beds.
Our stay was three and a half days, and in that time, the lobby bathrooms did not get cleaned -it was not awful upon arrival, but noticing that the same litter was on the counters and floor 3 days later and the trash had not been taken out was gross.
The pool area was disturbing. There was dirty toilet tissue tracked out of the bathroom and gobs of hair on the floor and floating in the pool. I didn’t get a photo, unfortunately, but I opened the pool bathroom door to take my child to the restroom and was APPALLED. There were wet towels and tissue totally covering the floor, and it looked like someone had either p**ped or bled on them. I informed the front desk, and the next morning the pool area was closed “due to broken glass.” Better than nothing I guess.
We stayed on the 4th floor and the hotel was not near capacity but the noise from the other rooms was very loud throughout the night(s). I think it was mainly due to the large lobby area (very echoey), so I didn’t complain about the noise, but know this isn’t a quiet stay.
I’ve been staying here the last few weeks for work. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good. Front desk folks are very kind and helpful. Didn’t use the pool but others in my group did and seemed to enjoy. Definitely would stay again.
Rooms are no where near clean. Mold and mildew all over the showers. Had to stand in ankle deep water since it wouldn’t drain. Creases of shower covered in black spots. Wouldn’t recommend if you have a thing for cleanliness. Pool area disguisting. Not worth more than 70.00 a night.
This Radisson Hotel was the right spot for us to spend one night while driving through Georgia. Room was clean, beds were fresh & comfortable and although our room was near the elevators we were not disturbed by any noise. Terrence, at the front desk was friendly and very accommodating. (The reason we did not give it 5 stars is because the stairs area [which we chose to take] were dirty and smelled musty.)
Not bad at all. Nice staff. Clean and efficient. Check out is 12 which is great. Nothing fancy but if I needed to stay in the area again I would stay there.
