Memorable experience some years ago, cozy-beautiful place with an amazing view. Mary Ann and her staff were very attentive. Just loved it all, stunning quite, lake, nature, snow and a hot tub in the yard, gardens all surrounded, sucha pretty
THIS PLACE NO LONGER EXISTS. IT WAS SOLD AND NOW CALLING A HOUSE WITH SMALL ROOMS PEARSONS POND. DONT FALL FOR IT!!! RIP OFF AND REPORTING THIS OLACE TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.
Pearson’s Pond is pure serenity. You are surrounded by the beauty of nature and the pond. Maryann and her team wait on you hand and foot. Maryann offers the best suggestions on things to do and will take care of the booking. Maryann created the trip of a lifetime for us. She went over and above to help us plan our trip not only to Juneau, but also bear watching, Haines, Denali, Anchorage, Fairbanks and Kaktovic. You will love staying at Pearson’s Pond!! Best of all there are only a few lucky families that can stay here at one time, so it is like you are the only ones at the luxury spa! Five Stars!
This place is very close to Mendenhall Glacier. The grounds here are tranquil, cozy, and beautiful. You can relax on the patio, sit up by the water fountain, or drift out in the pond in one of the boats. Maryann took good care of us: making sure we had a hearty breakfast each morning, comfy slippers, and mountain tram passes (free for guests)! I felt torn between wanting to spend time at the Inn and enjoying the sights around Juneau. The two recommendations that Maryann made that I loved the most were a visit to the Jensen-Olson Arboretum (a botanical garden surrounding a cove), and the tram ride up the mountain. Our stay here was truly comfortable and luxurious. You feel like you are away from it all, while still having all the creature comforts you could want, including a hot tub in the room!
I couldn’t speak highly enough of Mary Ann and the staff at Pearson’s Pond. We stayed there for our wedding/honemoon and it was spectacular. One of the nicest places to stay in Juneau and very close to the Mendenhall Glacier. The breakfast area was fully stocked with every juice and food we could ever desire. Mary Ann even put some gluten free bread out for me. My wife also got a massage on site that she loved! If we ever go back to Juneau we will definitely be booking our stay at Pearsons. They couldn’t have been any more gracious hosts. Thanks also for the candles and champagne on our wedding night. Such sweet wonderful people.
My husband and I honeymooned at Pearson’s Pond last week for 6 days and had the MOST INCREDIBLE WEEK OF OUR LIVES! Maryann is an amazing hostess and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, romantic, and flawless. The property is indescribably beautiful, the pond is breathtaking, and the amenities are worth every penny. We enjoyed just relaxing on the property, grilling our catch of the day, paddle boating on the pond, using the hot tubs and fire pit, and taking walks around the neighboring areas in the evenings. The location is perfect and in a great spot to easily get to wherever you want to go in the Juneau area. The owner Maryann thought of everything to make our stay special- from bottles of sparkling cider, homemade hot breakfasts, candles and rose petals, luxurious robes to use to and from the hot tubs, and beyond… She personally coordinated our numerous excursions and provided excellent recommendations for restaurants, activities, and other tips for our stay. Whatever we needed, Maryann was able to accommodate with a smile. She is one of the sweetest and most hospitable people we have ever met and will DEFINETLY be returning in the future (and bringing others with us!) to experience the magic they have created at Pearson’s Pond! We highly recommend staying here!!!
The staff are just fantastic! Leta and Galena went out of their way to be awesome and did some really nice things for me. A couple weeks ago I came in late at night and I currently have a broken back. There were no rooms downstairs and Leta carried my heavy tool bag style luggage up the stairs to my room. She needs to know how awesome she is just for that alone, but there is so much more she has done for me. Galena is a steady person there and I have seen her there now for a couple years. Always makes sure I have anything I need and is just a great help in every way. She has made sure I have a meal and asks if I need anything all the time. Just wonderful. Thank you Galena, I would steal you away if you ever want another career doing what I do. The other staff are mostly pretty great too, but those two have stuck out for the most part at both properties here in Juneau
Convenient to the airport, free shuttle to downtown Juneau, free shuttle to airport. Very small and quaint inn, rooms are nicely furnished. Meals available in homey dining room, or brought to guest room. Friendly hosts.
Grandma’s Feather Bed…. the name in of itself would suggest a soft comfortable bed. Alas, that is not the case (at least for room 137). The bed was the Best Western standard mattress special (firm), not even a pillow topper on the mattress. Based on the name and a few reviews is why I chose this hotel over others in Juneau. For the price per night, I figured that it would be really nice, but $175/night does not buy what it used to. Yes, I did talk to the front desk, however they could not do anything about the mattress, including adding additional quilts to soften up the feel. NOW, it wasn’t all bad, the ambience of this cute bed and breakfast is quite nice. And its modified Breakfast service was very good (Breakfast burrito with bacon or saugage and hash potatoes), delivered to my room at either 7am, 7:30am, 8am or 8:30am. I was able to partake in the breakfast my first day, and it was quite yummy and filling. The whirlpool tub is quite large designed for couple to relax in. The TV worked well and had a lot of great TV channels available including some of the big services. So aside from the firm bed that made sleeping VERY uncomfortable and fitful, if I came with a mattress topper then this would be quite comfortable and would likely stay again. Please consider this a warning if you are a large person and like a soft bed, this is not going to be it unless you bring something to help in that regards.
Location is very near the airport. It is very cozy. Place at first had a weird look since is in a corner with enough space for you to park. Plus is besides another hotel that it can get kind of confusing. The entrance pictures in Google make you think you are going to this big land hidden from outsiders but when you enter is right there besides the street.
When you enter is beautiful, the service is kind of ok. Seen better service before, and when I say this is not that I need a red carpet but you would at least get some social and soft skills at the front door. It felt like if we where at a licor store you ask a question and it gets half answered with a attitude.
The room is a 5 starts here. Super clean, wide, roomy, bed is very tall over all loved it.
They call you for wake up call, or if you want to get breakfast there.
Sadly we needed to leave very early but they have grab and go snaks.
Room was very nice & equipped w/ microwave, coffee maker & fridge. All food is delivered to room. We did not get our breakfast to go as requested for the day we left. Bed was a little soft.
Very close to bus line & hotel provides free shuttle service to downtown & airport, which is very handy.
Probably one of the nicest lodging places in Juneau.
Grandma’s Feather Bed definitely lives up to most of the positive reviews. From the gorgeous location, to the quaint room setup, and the delicious daily breakfasts, this was a truly comfortable experience. Some of the staff (namely the women who were working) were especially helpful in making sure both me and my father had enjoyable stays. Several of the staff members were simply indifferent toward guests though. Additionally, we visited Juneau during a slight heat wave and our rooms were uncomfortably hot at night. The thermostats did nothing to help cool them down. I understand many parts of Alaska don’t offer AC due to the climate there, but I was hoping there would be blackout curtains available to help with the summertime light and heat. My favorite part about Grandmas Feather Bed though was the daily complimentary shuttles they offer to the airport (24/7) and to downtown (9 am drop offs and 7:15 pickups, when scheduled ahead), given that the B&B location is about a 15 minute drive from downtown and there is very limited rideshare availability in Juneau. Keep in mind that as of June 2022, the dining area is still not open due to COVID precautions, so all meals do need to be scheduled ahead of time and will be delivered to your room.
Grandma Feather Beds is probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed. The rooms are beautiful and have a fantastic jetted soaking tub. Plus they have a wonderful breakfast and serve amazing dinner every night!! The staff is excellent most the time. The front desk clerk with reddish brown hair is super friendly and I’m always happy to see her. I had one issues once while staying and the hotel manager was quick to correct the situation and make sure everything was fantastic. I absolutely adore this place!! ❤️
The younger male working the desk has amazing customer service. Food at the restaurant was also amazing and prompt. Room was cozy and clean. I was excited to see a fan that I was able to use at night. Very quiet during the day and night. Also wanted to thank them for having a strict mask policy while in the lobby area.
