I can’t say enough about this place. I’ve never been to a hotel like this before. The hospitality was something like I’ve never experienced in my life. The views and the local strip of stores was so close we just walked there. The trinkets around the property are so humble too. This place really made me feel like I was at home. I’ll be coming back in January and I promise if you’re thinking about booking it, do it ! They even gave us complimentary breakfast in bed! They have add ons as well so we added mimosas. Bill, another employee there is so friendly and we had very nice conversations with him and it was a blessing to meet him and to stay here. Thank you so much!!
My new husband and I spent the night here after our wedding reception at the Elks Lodge and it was a beautiful, charming experience. The staff here is magnificent, just the true definition of hospitality, through and through. I couldn’t be happier.
This review is long overdue! My cousin and I booked a last minute 2 night stay back in April 2023. We were looking for a quiet, cute cottage to end our trip in Colorado and that’s what we found. The staff were so friendly, the main welcome area is cute and cozy, the snacks and drinks provided (depending of the time of day) was a welcomed addition. They have games and things as well which we weren’t able to enjoy but looked like it would have been fun to hang out in that space and play some games. Our room was cozy and clean, best sleep we had on our trip was in their bed! I see reviews about the breakfasts provided covered in foil, that did not bother us one bit. The day we checkout out I had informed the staff we would be checking out very early to catch our flight and they sweetly packed us breakfasts to take before the normal breakfast time. Thanks again for a great quick trip!
We held our corporate leadership off-site here and received nothing but the best service during these two days. The staff was so helpful, provided delicious breakfast, in a unique setting. I believe we will be a return customer next year.
We had an amazing 2 night stay in junior suite 5. Check in was a breeze and Kit was informative, and friendly. The Inn has a happy hour for guests at the office every day where you can get a free drink. They also offer breakfast brought to your room with a few different time options. When I informed them we wouldn’t need our breakfast the second day as we’d be leaving before the first serving they offered to bring us some snacks the night before that we could take with us! It ended up being a full breakfast with breakfast burritos that we could heat up before we left. The staff just went above and beyond to help us. Also, the grounds are just stunning and perfectly located for a short walk into Evergreen’s main street shopping and restaurants. We can’t wait to come back and stay again!
Booked a reservation. Policy was to take $20 for a cancellation, which we missed. We cancelled over EIGHT MONTHS ahead of the reservation. Requested a courtesy refund as most hotels would do under these circumstances. But not this one. The manager refused. They will keep the $20 this far in advance and likely resell the room. We will make sure NEVER to book a stay at this motel again. Pathetic. If you book, be prepared for a penalty for cancellation despite any of your circumstances.
My husband and I had the most WONDERFUL stay at Highland Haven in the Treehouse over the winter holidays. The check in process could not have possibly been easier – we were greeted by a very kind woman at the front desk and offered hot cider in the main room – and the actual lodging was the coolest place we’ve stayed. It was cozy, romantic, spacious, and clean. It was well appointed and we absolutely loved the patio, the steam shower, the fireplace, and certainly the jacuzzi tub on the top floor. We are already hoping to go back!! Couldn’t recommend more!
So I generally never post a review, but the stay my wife and I had earlier this year was so exceptional that we both agreed this place deserved a review. We booked for four nights at this bed and breakfast/inn since it seemed cozy and was close to Denver, and this stay far exceeded our expectations. First of all, we found out when we got there that we received not just a one-level but a two-level room upgrade simply as a way for Highland Haven to show us appreciation for booking a longer multi-night stay. As if that extra wasn’t enough, they gave us several things extra in our berries & bloom package which we appreciated so much. The lady hostesses and the male custodian were all very friendly and helpful. For example, the first full day we were there, I asked the lady at the front desk what were some nice restaurants she would recommend in the area. Not only did she list out several, but once I picked one out, she went ahead and made the reservation for us so that all we had to worry about was showing up to the restaurant. Their breakfasts were also excellent. The one time they had my breakfast request slightly off, they were quick to fix it, and it was wonderful to be able to eat breakfast in the public area since it had such a warm and cozy atmosphere. The only very slightly negative experience we had was when we first got there around 9-10pm because the map they had to show the rooms for when you arrived after normal hours was not the easiest to follow and because we didn’t know we had received a room upgrade. Thankfully, that was quickly resolved after calling their 24-hour phone number, and I was told that they were working on updating their map so it would be easier for late arrivals to find their rooms. If we lived closer to Colorado, we would definitely consider making this a bed and breakfast to frequent at least once a year. Thank you so much Highland Haven for helping make our first trip to Colorado together an enjoyable one!
My Husband and I just spent our honeymoon here at Highland Haven from October 17, 2022- October 24 & our week was absolutely amazing. Our little cottage (Hillside Two) was beautiful, extremely clean and well kept. The staff, especially Katey was awesome. She helped us with questions we had for things to do in the area since we were not familiar and made sure we felt at home no matter what. We already are planning our trip back and will definitely be staying here again- no questions asked!
A huge group of us stayed here for a wedding in golden and it was honestly the perfect place for the occasion. The whole inn is so cute and romantic alongside a creek and beautiful scenery. The fireside lodge was an amazing bridal suite for getting ready and hosting wedding day activities. The treehouse was unbelievably stunning. The staff were so accommodating in bringing us breakfast every morning, providing the perfect touches and even mimosas! I couldn’t have thought of a better place to host everyone for the wedding. Would definitely recommend for large groups or anyone looking for a lovely place to stay in evergreen! I would definitely come back and stay here again I never wanted to leave!
Just so wonderful! The rooms are perfection. The location is walkable to shops and restaurants. Happy hour was a fun touch. Breakfast was great. Staff was so nice and accommodating. We stayed in Hillside two with a hot tub and took our dog. Highly recommended!!
Our second time staying here and again, a great experience. The inn keepers are very helpful and friendly. And the rooms are clean and comfortable. The only thing that I didn’t like was that the bed in the Pikes Peak room is under a very short ceiling thereby causing me, even though I’m only 5′ 8″, to bump my head a number of times. If it were me, I would recommend the bedroom and the sitting room be swapped in order to avoid this issue. I still have to rate the entire thing 5 stars because I believe the B&B is the epitome of what a B&B should be.
Beautiful, beautiful place. Comfortable, with an eclectic period vibe. “Cottage-core” in the best of ways, with a touch of mystery. Food and service were flawless. Loved everything!
Superfine B & B in Colorado’s old Westside, home of some of the most unique architecture and well-maintained properties in Colorado Springs (which otherwise tends to be just a giant suburb). Sallie Clark and her husband Welling have provided us with one of the best B & B’s in the region. Perfect for honeymoons, or just a place to get away on the weekend. And her fresh-baked cookies are always delightful.
Fantastic service from everyone that took care of us during our stay. I would highly recomend if you need a place to stay ditch the hotels and stay here! Pictures do not do the rooms justice, the breakfast is top notch, and wonderful..You are located in the middle of everything you could ever want to do while staying in the area, close to resturants, shopping and activities….you will not regret your stay!! I always say suport local when ever you can, and dont give your money to big box chains…We will be back for sure during our next say in Colorado Springs!! Hope to see yall soon!! John and Christi Tynan, Texas
Is it possible to give 10 stars because I still don’t think that would be enough. We were treated to some of the best food, company, and accommodations I have ever experienced. For five star hotel rooms that fell short compared to this place. All I can say is I will never stay anywhere else when I visit Colorado Springs.
What a wonderful place to stay! My Husband & I enjoyed three nights in the Cripple Creek Suite & we were sad to leave! The Innkeepers were all amazingly kind and attentive and took great care of us. The house and grounds are meticulously kept and we got to see the house decorated for Christmas which was magical. The breakfasts were fabulous and delicious. We will absolutely be back!
We stayed here for two nights of a weekend getaway from Denver. The staff was very accommodating and kind. The goldfield room was cozy, intimate, and quiet. Would return!
Awesome location, Inn, and Inn keepers! We stayed two nights in the Pike’s Peak suite, highly recommend it. The private balcony is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine. Both breakfasts were great. We’ve done a few B&Bs and this one is ranking #1!
I booked a weekend at Holden House as a personal writing retreat and had a wonderful time. The room I had was cozy (it had an electric fireplace, comfy armchairs, and cozy bed with skylight overhead) and there was even a plate of homemade cookies waiting for me.
Checking in was easy, the rooms were very secure and clean — and with a lot of personality. The breakfasts were gourmet and such a treat! Every innkeeper I met was personable and friendly as well.
In the end, I got a lot of writing done and left feeling relaxed.
These rooms are great for writers as a retreat, but also for couples as a romantic getaway. The tubs fit two, there’s a wine social in the afternoons, and the surrounding neighbourhood is quiet and beautiful. I plan on coming back, both for writing retreats, and also for a romantic getaway with my husband.
