Had an absolutely wonderful stay. Room was beautiful and clean. Hosts were kind and welcoming. Breakfast was made to order and delicious. Highly recommend!!!
The pictures say it all… What used to be a beautiful home is now a dirty, smelly, joke of a bed and breakfast. From the moment we arrived to when we left, it was odd and confusing. It wasn’t very welcoming, and the room was underwhelming and dirty. We stayed in the Scheherazade suite, which looked promising in the pictures online. It smelled damp, felt creepy, and was not clean. As other reviewers have said, there was dust EVERYWHERE. The sheets and pillows were full of stains, the rugs were sticky, the jacuzzi tub was constantly leaking and crusty, and the toilet area had bugs on the floor and what appears to be a stain of handcuffs with bodily fluids next to it (Pictures to prove it). Very disturbing.
We couldn’t even stay the night, it was too gross. When we went to the main house to complain and notify the staff we were leaving early, the bartender just said “It’s not my place to clean, I’m just here to serve drinks.” Which I understand, but the owners were nowhere to be found, per the bartender. Nor was there a manager on site. So we couldn’t even tell them ourselves. Based on how the owners respond to other bad reviews on Google and TripAdvisor, the likelihood of this review being met with sincerity and the chances of getting a refund since we didn’t even stay the night are slim to none. This place is very unorganized and unprofessional.
We hoped to have a nice, romantic getaway at what could be such a beautiful B&B if the owners cared about the guests. But that sadly was not the case.
Beautiful setting and very good service. Had the buffet, $25.any type of drink, tea, coffee, extra. Could be better. Mini waffles too dry, chicken good. Too much spice on potatoes. Sausage and eggs, good. Mini cake mostly sweet icing. Would return and order from the menu.
Pro: quiet Cons: no personal service or anyone friendly to greet you: no water or cookies for guests like most B & Bs. Overrated place for sure. Will never go back. Sad really. Never stayed anywhere less friendly.
Amazing! Flew in from Phoenix to this charming escape. The Inn and town are perfect to renew and chill. The tranquility of the grounds and charm will fade away any unwanted stress. The service and owner were beyond what one can expect. Attention to detail and service. We will be back! Thank you Hammond for reminding us of the feel of small town charm.
Wedding venue review — Michabelle Inn was an excellent choice for our wedding venue. We rented all of the B & B rooms for the night of the rehearsal and wedding. It was really convenient having the wedding party on site and the entire property to ourselves. The rooms were all clean and comfortable. The breakfast and fresh coffee were delicious. The bridal room in the reception hall was perfect for all of the girls to get ready. The main inn and grounds made for beautiful wedding photo ops. We had the ceremony on the front lawn. It was a 4:00 ceremony, and the amount of shade was ideal. The reception hall was a score, too! The seating was plentiful and well-laid out. We especially liked the light curtains on the back wall. We had a live band set up in the front corner and still had plenty of room for dancing. The buffet served by the inn was hot, plentiful, and delicious! We opted for the open-bar and were impressed with how quickly the bar tenders worked through the line of guests. Other staff also worked diligently, bussing tables and keeping serving line stocked. While some parts of the property/grounds do need a bit of TLC, I think that for the value, Michabelle Inn is an excellent choice. Most of the other venues we considered were TWICE the cost of Michabelle Inn. Thank you, Michabelle Inn staff, for a wonderful wedding weekend experience.
Last minute ‘get out of the city’ trip for my husband and I. Peaceful and quiet, a yummy breakfast is included with your stay. The main house oozes Southern charm, and the owners were very welcoming and gracious. Located about an hour north of New Orleans, Michabelle Inn is a perfect getaway when you need to hit the ‘reset’ button.
If you’re looking for a place that’s near all the attractions this is a very nice private place in the city limits. The facility is well kept. The photos gave me the feeling it was in a rural area. As for as the staff they were nice enough but not very friendly. Not sure if they are from the south.
I had an incredible stay at this bed & breakfast. After a rough week, I decided to treat myself to a stay here. I was greeted by David and he helped me carry my bag to my room and gave me all the information I needed. I took a luxurious bath, ate dinner on the second floor balcony, and enjoyed roaming the house and checking out all the historic architecture and art. Breakfast was cooked fresh for me and the cook was very kind! And they served real coffee which is a huge bonus for me as a coffee buff! For the price I paid, I would consider this a phenomenal value.
It’s important to note that I noticed some bad reviews from people of color. I would hate to learn that my treatment had to do with being a white woman and I hope to not see more bad reviews claiming racism. I would love to stay here again, but not if that is the pattern.
We were traveling to an event at Nicholls State. This hotel was clean and conveniently located. The rooms were nice. Breakfast was good and ready first thing at 6 am. I never miss a chance to pick a Hampton Inn.
Was in town for my daughter’s wedding. Stayed one night before checking out and moving to another hotel just to get out of that filthy room. Bad lighting. Bad smell. Sticky carpet. Comforter on bed thats never washed. Nasty bathroom that appeared to have not had the floors or baseboards cleaned in years. The air conditioner made every sound except the sound of cold air blowing. Awful to wake up at 3am throwing cover ofc because youre hot. Such a disappointment in the chain. Very outdated. Smelled like old, moldy plastic throughout the hotel even in the elevator. Desk clerk that checked me in was a wonderful person, but that’s the best I can say about this hotel located in Thibodaux. You’d be better off to save your $166.00 and go next door to the Holiday Inn Express.
The staff was exceptional and the service was really great. They let us hang out in the lobby area, and the location was less than a 2 minute drive from the venue. Close to restaurants and grocery stores, but it’s a small town so everything has to be close. Room was a King suite and it was lovely. Large and clean. My main issue was with the noise in the room. We were in room 103 which was 24/7 of mechanical noises. We were beside the laundry room so that was noisy, our fridge sounded like it was going to take off, and for a hotel like this I’d expect there to be some kind of soft closures for the doors to the rooms, but no there aren’t, and doors were slamming all hours of the day and night. I was frustrated with the fact that there weren’t any privacy curtains either. We are on the first floor and right beside a walking path and area where staff hang out for their breaks, but we can’t have the window curtains open during the day or anytime we were in the room unless we were ok with literally zero privacy. Having to use every light in the room rather than natural sunlight was annoying. The breakfast was fine however the omelettes always contained cheese and were premade, with no option to not have anything made without cheese (I asked) which isn’t ideal when you have a dairy allergy. Lots of waffles and potatoes for breakfast and I got sick of eating it by the last two days. Also wish the pool was open since it was 30 degrees C and humid every day.
