Exceptional stay – one of the most memorable and incredible stays we have had! My boyfriend proposed in the room 800 (the panoramic views) and the staff went above and beyond setting up the room. The 5 days following they were so attentive and helpful. The room was cleaned spotless daily, the restaurants service were top notch, and the VIEWS were out of this world.
We went to the fairmont for a spa day and while it’s cool to see I have to say the Rimrock views are 10/10. You won’t get that kind of view at fairmont. We went back and forth on which one to stay at and I’m so thankful we picked Rimrock! Thank you for making our week so special, this is a moment we will always cherish.
Gorgeous view of the mountains in this terrain built hotel. There is a pretty landscape behind the hotel for a nice walk. The area the hotel is in is quiet and relaxing as well. Nearby is a hot springs, and the Banff Springs Golf Course which is visible from the hotel. The hotel lobby is nice and the rooms are pretty nice as well, especially with views. The pool is heated and small but big enough for decent swimming. This place is an interesting property, and I enjoyed my time here.
To describe my stay in one word: disappointing. I stayed here on a weekend trip with my parents (they charged an extra 30 dollars for this) and I was not happy with my stay. To begin, the view we paid for was interfered with my a window with bird feces. The room was average at best. There was not anything spectacular about it compared to the 150 dollar hotels I’ve stayed at, except for the overpriced water and chips they have in the room that they later charge you for. The hotel staff was the downfall of this hotel. They seemed to always have attitude and were sort of arrogant. I overlooked this fact until I saw several other reviews saying the same thing, which is why I wonder why the issue is not corrected. I had to ask the staff for a nicer tone after a rude phone call answer. I was confronted by a staff member about using the pool after 10pm, even after clarifying that I knew the rules that it was adults only after 10pm (I am 18). I received no compensation for this bad expirience. They charge you an additional fee for parking, even after spending the large sum for the disappointing rooms. The fitness center equipment is aged and some things are rusted. There is only 2 spray bottles to clean equipment after use, so many just don’t clean it. Again on the staff, it felt like whenever I was roaming the hotel, exploring all the shops, I was always being observed, as if I wasn’t trusted (this happened on multiple occasions). I genuinely do not think I will stay here again, especially since they do not even offer free breakfast. If you are considering staying here, I recommend you to find another option. If you are looking for something luxury, I recommend the Banff Springs. If you are finding a place to stay for a night, I recommend anywhere but here. Not worth the money, and the staff are poor-mannered to say the least.
Let me start off by saying this hotel has the most amazing staff! Even before we arrived, they were helping us make the most of our vacation. The concierge and Bell staff helped us plan getting around and had great suggestions for food and adventures. The location is amazing with stunning views of the mountains. With snow falling, it was truly magical. You can walk to the Banff Gondola and Upper Hot Springs. The food is delicious (and make sure you do Pasta night on Wednesdays.) The fitness room and pool, hot tub and sauna are very nice. Our room had terrific views and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was a little small, and the furniture is showing some age. But we very much enjoyed our stay.
I’ve stayed at some of the finest hotels in the world but this hotel was truly different. The views from our hotel room were phenomenal and very clean. What sets this hotel apart from others is the concierge service that helped us arrange local transportation and ski resort bookings. They’ve went above and beyond to make sure our ski trip was phenomenal and without delay by staying on top at a moment’s call. Would stay here in Banff again!
WOW! Absolutely spectacular hotel. Our anniversary was spent in a suite with endless views of the valley and town of Banff. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The welcome bottle of wine and the cheese tray were enjoyed on the private balcony in the cool evening air. This was like a fairytale dream come true. It was THE best hotel we have ever stayed in.
We had our wedding here in September 2023. The service, food, and views were all incredible. Our guests were extremely impressed with the overall experience. Service is clearly very important to the Rimrock staff, as every staff member went above and beyond to make sure us and our guests were well taken care of. The staff were always eager to assist (even when weren’t expecting it), and always did so with a smile. Jocelyne and her team did an amazing job making sure everything was in place for the wedding, and made our planning process as easy and stress free as possible. We couldn’t be happier and highly recommend the Rimrock for any event or stay.
Gorgeous location and away from the traffic and buzz of downtown Banff. Located right by the gondola and Upper hot springs. Rooms are pretty and spacious with good views. One small minus for lack of a ceiling light. Service has been absolutely stellar, everyone is smiling and eager to help. Parking is a tad expensive, but at the same time a huge plus for complimentary bus passes that allowed us to ride transit for free for our whole stay. Yummy breakfast buffet. Will definitely visit again.
I picked this hotel primarily because of price – to me it was a fair deal, all things considered. However, from the moment I drove up to the hotel entrance at 9pm, my wife and I could feel this is a different hotel. The staff – their smiles, their manners, and their helpfulness is just top notch. We felt they take pride in their work – they work there because they want to be there, and it felt really good. We saw quite a few tour buses dropping off customers, and we did not see too may kids running around. We had breakfast there once and most of the clients there were older than us. The bed was comfortable. The gym, pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room, everything is clean and new. I think these are things that will help people make decisions on whether to stay in Rimrock. Perhaps I have been staying at 3 star places too often, so this upgrade is extremely noticeable. For the extra I paid, I felt I got an excellent return from it.
The only negative comment I have to make is that it was a little hard to find the driveway when arriving in the dark, and finding wifi of the properties in that driveway was the lodge.
I can not say enough great things about this place!
Lonny was very quick to deal with any issues we came across, and Brooke was amazing to work with for our wedding.
The setup was gorgeous, and they did all they could to make our day as special as possible. They took care of every detail, and all the communication up to our arrival and while we were there made us feel highly cared for.
Absolutely amazing. I stayed here with my partner last weekend for a night because of an event we had, and we had such a nice stay, I wish our stay was longer! The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the chef made the best breakfast we have ever had! The views from our room were amazing! We will definitely be back and stay here every time we are in Canmore!
Thank you for such a relaxing and lovely weekend! We loved the cozy & charming feel of the Bear & Bison Inn. The hot tub was such a nice treat, as we had it all to ourselves and the breakfast was delicious & far better than anything we could have found in town on our own! I loved that it was also brought to our room in the morning, which only made our stay more relaxing. Thank you again, we will surely be sharing your name with our friends and will definitely be returning.
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding venue than the charming Bear and Bison Inn. From the moment we arrived to the day we left, our experience was absolutely magical. The setting is so picturesque, with the view of the Three Sisters and cozy accommodations that added a rustic elegance to our special day.
Brooke, our wedding coordinator, was an absolute gem. Her attention to detail and dedication to making our day flawless was truly remarkable. She was always available to answer our questions and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly.
And let’s not forget the food! Lonny’s culinary skills are nothing short of extraordinary. The meals served throughout the weekend were not only delicious but also beautifully presented.
Our wedding guests couldn’t stop raving about the venue, the service, and the overall experience. We wholeheartedly recommend the Bear and Bison Inn as a wedding venue. We will be back!
Choosing Bear and Bison was one of the best decisions we made planning our wedding! They were so helpful as planning and coordinating were coming together and had me feeling confident going into our big day that we were going to get the perfect day to celebrate. The food was incredible and it kept coming until we were all stuffed to the brim. Having Brooke on site to help make sure our wedding day ran smoothly was such a comfort and had me feeling so relaxed knowing that everything would be taken care of! The jacuzzi tubs in the room didn’t hurt either ☺️. The gazebo was set up so beautifully for us and the breakfast and dinner table settings were coordinated with our wedding colours without me asking! I would definitely recommend Bear and Bison Inn to any brides or grooms like myself who get overwhelmed by the prospect of organizing and coordinating the 100s of elements that go into a wedding! With Brooke and Lonny it was a breeze!
