Parking was a breeze, with a covered walkway into the hotel so no rain/snow that you have to walk in!
We were greeted by the biggest smiles at the front desk (Chris!) with everything about our stay explained to us. Efficient check-in, and a beautiful bar and fireplace as you walk in. We got a bayside view, and it felt like we were on the water—it was AMAZING. Club level is completely worth it, with snacks at night and breakfast complimentary in the morning!
They even have ‘adult hours’ at the pool! Really a great experience from start to finish and wish we had more time to enjoy it!!!!
Renovations are very nice. Lobby and connected restaurant very beautiful with lots of natural light and lake views. I was traveling alone with my 4 year old son and I felt very welcome. We had a bay view room which was great. I was worried about being right off the elevator as far as noise, I was woken once but I’m pretty sure that group was drunk. Food at the restaurant on site was just ok but the service was great. Food at the club level was also meh but better than nothing and a nice service for elite members. Check in/check out very pleasant. Pool a little chilly but my son enjoyed it and I was able to get used to it. Hotel is clean.
Beautiful Hotel. Location is prefect. Chris at the Front Desk was very polite and welcoming. We were in town to celebrate my son’s birthday. The room upgrades were very modern.
Usually, staying at this property is a delight, but this was by far the worst experience I have had here. Our room was right beside a service room where judging from the sounds is used for preparing food for the conference rooms. All afternoon, all we heard was banging, carts rolling over uneven floors, and other various noises. Then, just to add to the noise, the toilet would run every 6/7 minutes. Overall, it was annoying. Woke up the next morning to hear the housekeeper singing while cleaning the room on the other side of ours. The walls here must be paper thin as we heard every noise around us. Website says the hotel was renovated(not quite done), but the filter to the in room ac/heat was filthy, so I guess general maintenance isn’t done with a complete renovation…
The room was decent, The part I like was the bathroom was a bit spacious. I do not like that you can’t hook up to the TV as the remote has no way of changing to HDMI, the TV did have enough channels to find something. The cost for the room was high for really nothing extra inside it. All I felt like I got was the view of the bay. The pool and whirlpool were nice. The staff was excellent. Our fridge in the room was not working and they got us another fridge. The skybridge was neat and leads to the convention center. Parking cost $14 if you stay in the hotel which honestly should be included. There was no free breakfast either. (Can’t give out Muffins?) They do have a restaurant inside.
I just love this hotel! Although it is very sad to hear theta Stefanos has gone back to Greece, there are many others that deserve the shout out. Alyssa Davis has amazing customer service skills, sure to be a GM one day. Jimmie at the front desk was also awesome, and Mr Mike who helped me with my reservation. I just love this place, the atmosphere, and their staff. ❤️ Derek ?
Do not book here!!!!! I had this unfortunate displeasure of staying here in March. Checked out after one night due to hotel being under construction (NOT listed when booked) and they did NOT inform me that my rates were non refundable when I canceled after one night. I tried to call both the hotel and the customer service and both stated that the rates were non refundable. Would’ve been great to hear upon checkout. Enjoy loud noises and bad smells from the AC if you stay here! Had 3 hotel stays planned for April with Marriott and will now be switching to another brand. Do better Marriott.
My family and I recently stayed at the Sheraton and experienced a phenomenal stay. Rachel and her team were so welcoming and professional. The amenities are second to none. The complimentary cookies and water in the lobby were a nice touch as well. During our stay, we spent time at the Bayfront Grille bar in the lobby and experienced excellent service. My family and I spend a lot of time in Erie and we will certainly be returning to the Sheraton. Our hope is that the renovations that are occuring maintain the warm, hospitable atmosphere that is currently present.
Rooms are fine. Clean and comfortable but layout wasn’t exceptional. Staff was super. Ate Christmas dinner there and it was very good. Lobby, fitness room, and all common areas were very nice. My understanding is the hotel is scheduled for an upgrade in the near future. Probably the rooms will be targeted.
Loved the breakfast setup! The Employees were awesome! My only complaint is the lack of detailed cleaning. I would that housekeeping would be instructed to clean door knobs, any stains on walls, the remotes, and dust the room regularly without asking. The remote was nasty. They supply a wipe for it, but it needed more than a wipe. Our stay was pleasant. The location was convenient for where we planned on going.
Paid far more for the room than I should have, but due to the demand I suppose that isn’t the hotels fault. This is another example of an older hotel that is retrofitting modern fixtures in each room to try and stay current. It seemed to me that most things were done poorly or cheaply. I recently stayed at another Hampton that opted to remodel instead of replace, and it was a much better looking room.
The beds in our room were saggy, the heater was loud, the decorations on the wall were loose and seemed ready to fall down.
On the other hand, staff were very friendly, and accommodating. The pool was nice, clean and warm. The lobby was nice, we had food delivered both nights and ate in the lobby. Breakfast was good, the staff working at breakfast were quick and helpful.
If I had to stay in Erie again, and given the option to stay in this hotel for a more reasonable price I would consider it, however if a different hotel with similar amenities was available at the same price I’d likely go there instead.
Rena was amazing. She asked ahead if we needed anything and ensured our late check-in was noted. Shawn made the check-in process easy for us and was very friendly. The food was good and the coffee with flavoured creamer was a great touch. The workout room was small but clean and functional. The room was clean and, as always, the bedding was crisp white and the bed was comfortable. I highly recommend Erie-South Hampton Inn!
This is a well-maintained and managed property … the Lobby, main areas, and our room was extremely clean and spacious! The beds were super comfortable and the pillows were great! All employees that myself or my family interacted with were extremely helpful, pleasant, and welcoming! The complimentary breakfast offered was FANTASTIC with a large array of items to choose from, which included fluctuating hot items each day (we didn’t have the same hot items the 4 days we stayed). The pool was an awesome bonus for my family … it was clean and offered plenty of seating.
Great place to stay while in Erie. Location nice and central on main highways and across from splash lagoon if that’s your type of thing. Rooms were clean and updated. Bed and pillows comfortable and black out blinds ensured good sleep. From desk ladies were kind as could be – those two deserve a serious raise. Pool nice and warm. Great value stay.
Overall a decent Hampton Inn. Not the best I’ve stayed at, but definitely not the worst either. Rooms could use a bit of an update and a little more tidy. The workers were great minus some needed patrolling at night to keep the kids calmed down a bit after 11. The noise bled into the room too much, but luckily the kids stopped running the halls at midnight. Breakfast was your typical Hampton Inn breakfast, but the woman working it was friendly and very helpful. I would stay again given the price.
This hotel was great. Everything was clean, easy and quick check-in. Everyone was really friendly. We were here for a hockey tournament and the staff was so accommodating and sweet. We pretty well took over this entire hotel and everyone still treated us well and was very friendly and helpful! We were grateful to have so many people be so friendly with so many of us and our kids running around. Breakfast in the mornings was good, my only complaint would be that all the muffins tasted like banana and I couldn’t tell if it was just because they were near banana nut muffins or actually made with banana.
